BREAD MACHINE WHITE BREAD RECIPE

Steps:
- Add the ingredients in the order listed to the bread maker pan. The ingredients are listed in the order that Cuisinart machines require them to go. Check your brand's manual for the correct order to add ingredients. If it differs, add them in the order that your manual states.
- Select the basic/white bread setting. Choose the 2 lb loaf size and your preferred crust color. *see notes for making a smaller loaf
- Optional: At the end of the last kneading cycle, remove the kneading paddle. If you miss this step, remove the paddle using oven mitts after the bread cools.
- When baking is complete, remove from the bread pan immediately. Cool on a wire rack for at least 15-30 minutes before slicing.

WHITE MACHINE BREAD
I've had this recipe for almost 10 years. I used it in the 1993 Oregon State Fair and won 1st place. I'm not sure where I got it, becasue I collect magazine recipes, recipe books, newspaper recipes. I often change ingredients by trial and error. I like this recipe becasue it always comes out tall, light and perfect in every way.

- Put your hot water, yeast and sugar in your bread machine. Let stand 6-12 minutes depending on the temp of your water. Your yeast will foam.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Use rapid or basic white cycles.

- For a 2 lb loaf, please use the 2 lb ingredient list and set the bread machine settings to 2 pound loaf, light color and “basic” bread options. For a 1.5 lb loaf, please use the 1.5 lb ingredient list and set the bread machine settings to 1.5 pound loaf, light color and “basic” bread options.
- Your bread machine should be unplugged. Remove the bread pan from the bread machine (so when you add the ingredients, they can not accidentally spill into the machine).
- Pour the milk into the bread pan and then add the other ingredients. Place the bread machine yeast in last and the yeast should not touch the liquid (until the bread machine is turned on and the ingredients start to be mixed together by the bread machine). Put bread pan with ingredients back into unplugged bread machine.
