3/4 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1/4 teaspoon salt
FILLING:
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup apple jelly
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1-1/4 cups chopped walnuts
1-1/4 cups chopped dates

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. In a small bowl, whisk flour, oats and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Press onto bottom and 1/2 in. up sides of an ungreased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake until edges begin to brown, 16-20 minutes. Cool on a wire rack., For filling, in a large saucepan, combine honey, apple jelly and butter over medium heat; stir until jelly and butter are melted. Remove from heat; whisk in brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. In a small bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; whisk into honey mixture. Fold in walnuts and dates. Pour over crust; spread evenly. Bake until golden brown, 24-28 minutes. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 eggs
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt

LEMON GLAZE:
1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. , Press onto the bottom of a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. 1 cup quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup whole-wheat pastry flour or regular whole-wheat flour
1/4 cup toasted wheat germ
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup canola oil
1 egg, beaten to mix
1 egg white
3/4 cup chopped dried tart cherries
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
Cooking spray
1/4 cup "fruit only" apricot preserves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, whisk together the oats, flour, wheat germ, cinnamon and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the honey, applesauce, oil, egg and egg white until well combined. Stir in the oatmeal mixture until well combined. Add the dried cherries and walnuts.
  • Coat an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray. Spread the mixture into the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out
  • clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Put the preserves in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. As soon as the bars come out of the oven, brush with the preserves. Cool completely and cut into 12 bars, about 4 by1 1/2 inches each.

1 large egg, room temperature

GLAZE:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 to 2 tablespoons water
Additional toasted chopped walnuts, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat sugar, oil, honey and egg until well blended. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; gradually beat into sugar mixture. Stir in 1 cup walnuts., Spread into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake until golden brown (edges will puff up), 10-12 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack., For glaze, in a small bowl, mix confectioners' sugar, mayonnaise, vanilla and enough water to reach desired consistency; spread over top. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sifted confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup diced sweet butter
3 cups halved walnuts
2 beaten eggs
1/4 cup melted sweetened butter
1/4 cup light brown sugar
6 tablespoons dark clear honey
1 tablespoon light cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • Lightly Grease pan.
  • Put the flour, confectioners sugar and butter in food processor and process until the mixture forms crumbs.
  • Using the pulse button, add 1-2 tablesppons water- enough to make a firm dough.
  • Push the dough into the greased pan so it makes an even layer.
  • Sprinkle the walnuts over the base.
  • Whisk remianing ingredients together.
  • Pour over the walnuts and bake for 25 mins.
