1/2 to 3/4 cup crushed ice
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce light rum
1/2 ounce Triple Sec
2 ounces unsweetened pineapple juice
2 ounces orange juice
Lime slice and pitted sweet dark cherry

Steps:

  • Place desired amount of ice in a rocks glass. Pour vodka, rum, Triple Sec and juices into glass. Stir; serve with a lime slice and cherry.

  • Combine 2 ounces each orange juice and sour mix and 1 ounce each bourbon, peach schnapps and vodka in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into a tall glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.

1 (15 ounce) can black-eyed peas, drained
1 (10 ounce) package frozen corn kernels, thawed
2 tablespoons chopped pimento peppers
½ cup chopped celery
2 tablespoons minced onion
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon white sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon pepper
¼ cup vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Combine the black-eyed peas, corn, pimentos, celery, and onion in a mixing bowl; set aside. In a separate bowl, whisk together the vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, and pepper. Slowly whisk in the vegetable oil until the dressing emulsifies. Stir the dressing into the vegetables until evenly coated. Refrigerate 4 hours to overnight before serving.

Because these goodies are somewhat labor intensive, I only make them on special occasions. However, this guest-requested snack is a Christmas Party favorite!

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 lbs pitted dates
1 lb pecan halves
1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, room temperature and grated
1 cup margarine, softened
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, but I recommend it) (optional)
1/2 cup sugar

Steps:

  • Stuff dates with pecan halves. Set aside.
  • Cream the cheese and the margarine together well. Add flour, salt, and cayenne pepper. Mix well. (Note: this dough should be very stiff.).
  • Put mixture into cookie press with the box plate attached. Squeeze out in long strips.
  • Cut long strips into 2 -3 inch pieces. Wrap these pieces around pecan-stuffed dates.
  • Roll in sugar and place on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 300 degrees F until light brown.

3/4 ounce triple sec or 3/4 ounce any orange-flavored liqueur
lime wedge
pineapple juice

Steps:

  • Fill a 12 oz glass with shaved ice.
  • Add the vodka, rum and Triple Sec.
  • Squeeze in the lime wedge and drop into glass.
  • Fill with equal parts pineapple and orange juice.
