TWO INGREDIENT SOUR CREAM BISCUITS*

Two Ingredient Sour Cream Biscuits* image

I am very very picky about my biscuits, I want them tasty, light, totally done, but not dry. I really hate the half cooked ones or the ones that are so dry and hard, you just about choke to death i.e. the kinds that you get at most restaurants. I came across a recipe for sour cream biscuits that sounded good and after searching, reviewing, and trying a bunch of different ones ( I always read the reviews before I try). I think I have come up with a really easy recipe that tastes super, I can not believe how great these came out. * does not include flour for rolling out or oil for greasing pan

Time 17m

Yield 8-12 biscuits, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

2 cups Bisquick
12 ounces sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Directions for rolled biscuits:.
  • Mix the ingredients together, then form into a soft ball. Place on a floured board and roll out to about 1/2 inch thickness (this is a very soft dough) cut out biscuits using a 2 inch round cutter. Place on greased baking sheet and bake about 12 minutes or until golden brown. (In my oven they took about 15 minutes, but I like my biscuits well done).
  • Directions for dropped biscuits:.
  • Mix the ingredients together. Then drop by spoonful (or use an oiled 1/4 cup measuring cup) onto a greased baking sheet and bake about 12 minutes or until golden brown.

2-INGREDIENT CREAM BISCUITS (+VIDEO)

2-Ingredient Cream Biscuits (+Video) image

These 2-Ingredient Cream Biscuits are the easiest, fluffiest homemade biscuits ever! Just self rising flour and heavy cream with melted butter on top!

Provided by Brandie @ The Country Cook

Categories     Breads

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 3/4 cups White Lily Self-Rising flour
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup melted butter (for tops of biscuits)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 500F degrees (yes, that is the correct temperature)
  • Spray a baking sheet with a little nonstick spray.
  • Measure out flour into a large bowl.
  • Gradually stir in cream, adding enough to moisten flour to a sticky dough.
  • Mix gently then turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface (use the self-rising flour). If it is too sticky to handle, add just a sprinkling of self-rising flour to the top.
  • Fold the dough ta couple of times to form a ball.
  • Pat or roll dough gently to a 1/2-inch thickness.
  • Take a biscuit cutter and dip it in a bit of the self-rising flour (this will keep it from sticking to the dough as it cuts).
  • Then begin to cut out biscuits as close together as possible. Do not twist your biscuit cutter when cutting them out.
  • Place biscuits on prepared cookie sheet.
  • Brush the tops of the biscuits with a bit of melted butter.
  • Then place biscuits (one sheet at a time, in the middle rack) in preheated oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes or until tops are golden brown.

TENDER HOMEMADE SOUR CREAM BISCUITS (NO-FAIL RECIPE)

Tender Homemade Sour Cream Biscuits (No-Fail recipe) image

I've tried biscuit recipes for most of my life. Some work, some don't. Some are ok, but this one is GOOD. And it's an easy NO-FAIL recipe. I haven't even tried another one in years. I've been making these for a very long time now, and cannot remember where it came from. :/ But if you love homemade biscuits and have never had very...

Categories     Other Breakfast

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 c flour
1 Tbsp + 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 c sour cream, i would not suggest subbing light
1 Tbsp + 1 tsp. vegetable oil
4 Tbsp soft butter

Steps:

  • 1. In medium-sized bowl, whisk first 4 ingredients til well mixed.
  • 2. Add sour cream in spoonfuls on top, add oil and mix til all is just moistened with a spoon. Switch to using your hands turning the dough to get all the last of the dry stuff on the bottom of the bowl. Knead 8 times on floured surface.
  • 3. Roll thick to only about an 8" circle. Just a few passes with your (floured) rolling pin. Cut out 6 biscuits with a biscuit cutter or a floured glass. Get 2 more out of the last of the dough. (Bunch it back together, knead it just a bit, pat or roll it and cut.) Pitch any last little tidbit if any left. I place mine on my old round metal pizza pan covered with foil and sprayed with butter-flavored Pam. But a cookie sheet will work just fine.
  • 4. Place little pats of butter on top, or spread it a little if the butter is VERY soft and doesn't deflate the biscuits while doing so. Bake in hot, preheated 425 oven for 12-15 minutes (ovens vary) or til golden brown on top. Remove from oven and butter tops again with other half of butter. Serve warm with more butter and homemade jam or honey. Makes 8 tall sour cream biscuits.
