TOMOLIVE MARTINI
Tomolives are small pickled green tomatoes that taste like a cross between a caper berry and a dill pickle. They're available at some grocery stores or online at zabars.com or amazon.com.

Steps:
- Fill a martini glass and a shaker with ice. Add gin or vodka, vermouth, and brine to shaker. Shake vigorously 30 seconds. Remove ice from glass. Place a few tomolives in bottom; strain in martini.

This version of the classic cocktail comes to us from the master mixologist Dale DeGroff.

- In a pint-size glass, stir the Vermouth, gin or vodka, and ice cubes 50 times. Strain mixture into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with olive, lemon twist, or a tomolive.
DILL TOMOLIVES (PICKLED TINY GREEN TOMATOES)
This is a recipe supplied by Marg CDN at another site and is attributed to Nicole Okun. I think a lot of you might be interested in using up your green cherry tomatoes in this way - apparently very good in a martini!

Steps:
- Wash tomatoes and pack into clean quart jars.
- In each jar place 2 quarters of garlic clove and one spray of dill.
- Boil vinegar, salt and water together for 1 minute and pour over tomatoes.
- Leave 1/4" headroom and adjust lids.
- Process for 15 minutes in a boiling waterbath. Makes two quarts.
