6 tablespoons whipping cream
3 tablespoons honey
2 3.52-ounce bars Toblerone bittersweet chocolate or 7 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 tablespoon kirsch (clear cherry brandy)
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Assorted fresh fruit (such as whole strawberries, 1-inch-thick slices peeled banana, peeled pear wedges and orange segments)

Steps:

  • Bring cream and honey to simmer in heavy medium saucepan. Add chocolate; whisk until melted. Remove from heat. Whisk in kirsch and extract. Pour fondue into bowl; place on platter. Surround with fruit. Serve with skewers.

Oh my GOSH! Chocoholics rejoice! Got this from Kraft and if you love chocolate then this is the dip for you. I served my dip with strawberries but any seasonal fruit will do--strawberries, kiwifruit, banana, cherries or even marshmallows. This recipe can also be used as a fantastic sauce to drizzle over ice cream.

150 ml cream
1/4 cup golden syrup
cherries or marshmallows

Steps:

  • Place the Toblerone, cream and golden syrup into a saucepan.

Konrad Egli, a Swiss restaurateur who had popularized cheese fondue, introduced fondue bourguignonne at his Chalet Suisse restaurant in 1956. Then in the mid 1960s, he invented chocolate fondue as part of a promotion for Toblerone chocolate. Suggested dippers; Angelfood cake, pound cake, apples, maraschino cherries, marshmallows.

9 ounces toblerone swiss chocolate, broken into pieces or 6 ounces of unsweetened chocolate and 1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup light cream
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons Creme de Cacao or 3 tablespoons Grand Marnier

Steps:

  • In double boiler melt chocolate. Add cream, butter and salt.
  • Cook, stirring constantly for 5 minutes or until thickened. Add liqueur.
  • Transfer to fondue pot and keep warm over fondue burner.
  • Note: If fondue becomes too thick add a bit of warmed cream.

7 ounces toblerone bittersweet chocolate (two 3.52-ounce bars)
1/3 cup heavy cream
3 large egg whites
1/3 cup sugar
strawberry
carambola, sliced (star fruit, available seasonally at specialty produce markets)
red seedless grapes or green grape
dried apricot

Steps:

  • In a metal bowl set over a saucepan of barely simmering water melt the chocolate with the cream, stirring, remove the bowl from the pan, and let the mixture cool while making the meringue.
  • In another metal bowl combine the whites and the sugar, set the bowl over a saucepan of hot but not simmering water, and stir the mixture until the sugar is dissolved.
  • With a hand-held electric mixer beat the meringue for 5 minutes, or until it holds glossy stiff peaks and is warm to the touch.
  • Remove the bowl from the pan and continue beating the meringue until it is cool.
  • Transfer 1 cup of the meringue to a pastry bag fitted with a small decorative tip, fold the remaining meringue into the chocolate mixture gently but thoroughly, and divide the mousse among 6 small dishes.
  • The mousse may be made 4 hours in advance and kept covered at room temperature or it may be made 1 day in advance, kept covered and chilled, and allowed to come to room temperature.
  • On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil pipe the remaining meringue into 2-inch strips and bake the strips in the middle of a preheated 300°F.
  • oven for 15 minutes, or until they are lightly golden.
  • Let the meringues cool on the baking sheet and peel them from the paper.
  • The meringues may be made 2 days in advance and kept in an airtight container.
  • Serve the meringues and fruit for dipping into the mousse fondues.

1 400 g. toblerone milk chocolate bar
1/2 cup heavy cream (whipped or un whipped)
3-5 table spoons of your favourite liqueur * (optional)

Steps:

  • break toblerone bar into separate triangles and melt in top of double boiler over simmering water (or melt in low haet in microwave). stir untill smooth. add cream slowly, stirring constandly. add liqueur one tablespoon at a time, stirring aftereach addition. add more cream, one tablespoon at a time,if a thinner consistency is desired. mixture should be thick enough to coat the fruit or pastry of your choice.
