Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Combine all bran, molasses, and milk.
- Beat egg and add to bran mixture.
- Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and ginger.
- Sit into wet mixture.
- Stir in raisins.
- Grease muffin tins and fill 2/3 full.
- Bake about 20 minutes at 400F.
- Remove from pan and cool on racks.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease twelve 2 1/2-inch muffin cups.
- Stir together bananas, brown sugar, applesauce, egg, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, apple pie spice, and baking soda in another bowl.
- Add flour mixture and oats to banana mixture; gently stir just until combined. Do not overmix. Fold in apple. Spoon batter evenly into prepared muffin cups.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the centers comes out clean, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove muffins from pan, transfer to a wire rack, and let cool completely.

- Fill greased muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake at 400º for 20 minutes or until muffins test done.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease 12 muffin cups.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. In a separate bowl, beat together oil, 3/4 cup sugar, egg and milk. Stir egg mixture into flour mixture, just until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into a muffin comes out clean.
- While muffins are baking, mix together 3/4 cup white sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. While muffins are still hot, dip tops in melted butter and then in cinnamon sugar mixture.

Yummy yummy! From the 1950's and warm and spicy with a brown sugar icing that is butterscotchy good! I think this recipe comes from Star Bakery in Brooklyn, NY.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 12 muffin cups.
- Combine water and raisins in a saucepan; simmer 10 minutes. Set aside; do not drain.
- Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and raisins and reserved liquid. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture; mix well.
- Stir in walnuts, using.
- Divide batter among prepared muffin cups.
- Bake 20-25 minutes or until muffins test done by inserting a toothpick that comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes, remove from pan and cool completely on a rack.
- To make frosting:
- Combine brown sugar, half and half and salt in a sauce pan.
- Bring to a boil over low heat and stir until smooth,.
- Stir in butter and vanilla.
- Remove from heat, cool slightly.
- Stir in confectioners' sugar.
- Frost muffins; top with nuts, if desired.
