SPEEDY BROWNIES
These are one of the brownies my Grandma would make for us kids when I was growing up and have made them for years when my children were growing up.

Steps:
- 1. Melt the shortening and the chocolate in a sauce pan over low heat.
- 2. Stir in the sugar , flour , baking powder , salt and the vanilla.
- 3. Add the eggs that have been beaten well. Stir in the nuts.
- 4. Turn into a greased 8x9" pan , place in pre-heated oven and Bake 350° for 25-35 minutes.

- In a mixing bowl, combine the first seven ingredients; beat until smooth. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire racks.
