GRILLED SOUR CREAM AND ONION BURGERS
The classic duo of sour cream and onion soup mix jazzes up juicy beef burgers.

Steps:
- Heat gas or charcoal grill. In large bowl, mix all ingredients except buns and lettuce. Shape mixture into 8 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Place patties on grill. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 10 to 15 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F. Serve with lettuce in buns.

SAVORY SOUR CREAM BURGERS
I adopted this recipe because I liked the basic idea. Then I added some ingredients and changed the cooking method. I think I have now developed a recipe that produces a savory, juicy burger for those times when only a big 'ol burger will do! Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Steps:
- 1. Stir together sour cream, green onion, cinnamon, garlic powder, bread crumbs, and salt and pepper, to taste. Add ground beef and mix well.
- 2. Shape into two 3/4-inch thick patties. Grill or broil patties to desired level of doneness.
- 3. Hamburger buns should be split, toasted and buttered. Serve patties on toasted buns with tomatoes, lettuce and a dollop of sour cream, if desired.

SOUR CREAM BURGERS
This is my adopted recipe as of Feb 2005. I made this yesterday and doubled the recipe for DH and I. It was very moist and tasty. It made a great tasting hamburger. It would also be good with potatoes and a vegetable. I didn't use the microwave, I just fried it up.

Steps:
- Stir together 2 T sour cream, green onion, bread crumbs, salt and freshly ground pepper.
- Add ground beef; mix well.
- Shape the ground beef mixture into one 3/4-inch thick patty.
- Place the patty in a small baking dish.
- Loosely cover with clear plastic wrap or waxed paper.
- Micro-cook, loosely covered, on 100% power for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.
- Turn patty over; rotate the baking dish a half turn.
- Micro-cook, loosely covered, on 100% power for another 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until done.
- Drain off fat.
- Serve on toasted bun with lettuce and tomato.
- Dolop with additional sour cream, if desired.

- Gently massage ground beef, sour cream, thyme, rosemary, parsley, black pepper, and salt until just incorporated. Divide meat into four portions. Flatten each portion to 3/4-inch thick. Gently press center of patty down to create a slight depression, about 1/2-inch diameter. Cover and chill patties 1 hour and up to 8 hours.
- Coat red onion slices with coconut oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Remove patties from refrigerator and grill to desired doneness. While the patties are grilling, also grill the onion slices until lightly charred.
- Serve hamburger on whole wheat bun and topped with red onions and any condiments of your choice.
