Two types of meat pair well with tortellini, cheese, marinara sauce and mushrooms. Buon appetito!

1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1/2 lb bulk Italian sausage
1 container (15 oz) refrigerated marinara sauce
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with Italian herbs, undrained
1 package (9 oz) refrigerated cheese-filled tortellini
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or pizza cheese blend (4 oz)

Steps:

  • In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and sausage over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain.
  • Spray inside of 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Mix beef mixture, marinara sauce, mushrooms and tomatoes in cooker.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 7 to 8 hours.
  • Stir in tortellini; sprinkle with cheese. Cover; cook on Low heat setting about 15 minutes longer or until tortellini are tender.

There's nothing better than coming home to the cheesiest tortellini ever, and yes, it's easily made right in the crockpot!

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (10-ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chiles, undrained
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 (9-ounce) package refrigerated three cheese tortellini
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add ground beef, onion and garlic. Cook until beef has browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks; drain excess fat. Place ground beef mixture, crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes and green chiles, oregano, basil and red pepper flakes into a slow cooker; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Stir until well combined. Cover and cook on low heat for 7-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours. Uncover and stir in tortellini; top with cheeses. Cover and cook on low heat for an additional 15-30 minutes, or until tender. Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.

This super easy Slow Cooker Cheesy Tortellini takes just a few minutes to throw together. With crushed tomatoes, slow cooked chicken, tortellini and mozzarella cheese, it's a hearty meal that's perfect for colder weather.

1 cup pasta sauce (I used tomato basil flavor)
1 cup crushed tomatoes
2 cups chicken broth
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 (20 ounce) package tortellini
1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In a slow cooker, mix together pasta sauce, crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, and Italian seasoning.
  • Add in chicken breasts, then cook on low for 3-4 hours or until chicken is completely cooked all the way through.
  • Remove chicken from slow cooker and dice. Add chicken back to the slow cooker and add in tortellini and top with shredded cheese. Cook on low for another 15 minutes (until the tortellini is tender and cheese is melted).
  • Serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.

1 small sweet onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, grated or finely chopped
1 Honeycrisp or Granny Smith apple, finely diced
3 cups cubed butternut squash
2 carrots, chopped
2 cups Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
3/4 cup whole milk or heavy cream
1 can (12 oz) beer (I used pumpkin beer)
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves
1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper
10 oz cheese tortellini
1 1/2 cups shredded fontina cheese (6 oz)
1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (2 oz)
4 oz crumbled blue cheese, if desired

Steps:

  • Spray or grease 4-quart or larger slow cooker. Add onion, garlic, apple, squash, carrots, chicken broth, milk, beer, crushed red pepper flakes, rosemary, salt and pepper.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours or High heat setting 2 to 4 hours. Squash should be tender.
  • Transfer soup to blender; puree until smooth. Return to slow cooker.
  • Add tortellini and cheeses; stir to combine. Cover; cook on High heat setting about 10 minutes or until tortellini is soft.
  • Ladle into bowls; garnish with extra cheese, if desired. Serve with crusty bread.

½ pound Italian sausage, casings removed
1 (16 ounce) jar marinara sauce
1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:
