1 pound smoked sausage, cut diagonally into 3/4-inch slices
1 bottle (12 ounce) chili sauce
1/3 cup bourbon
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons onion, grated

Steps:

  • Heat 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat; add sausage. Cook about 2 minutes on each side or until browned. Drain on paper towels. Spray 3-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In slow cooker, mix chili sauce, bourbon, brown sugar and onion. Add sausage; stir to coat. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 3 hours or until sauce is slightly thickened. Serve sausage with toothpicks.

I make this for any get-together and it is always a hit! I was a little unsure at first about the grape jelly concoction, but I tried it and have never done it any other way. It is so savory with just enough sweet. I always receive or over hear lots of agreement with the taste of the sauce. It always disappears at parties, and the next day I have cravings for these cocktail wienies. Try it for your next potluck, back yard BBQ, or any event!

¼ cup bourbon whiskey
¼ cup water
1 (14 ounce) package beef smoky cocktail sausages

  • In a large saucepan, whisk the ketchup, brown sugar, bourbon whiskey, and water together until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Stir in the cocktail sausages, and place over medium heat.
  • Bring the sausages and sauce to a simmer; serve.

3/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup seedless raspberry jam

  • In large saucepan, stir together all ingredients. Heat to boiling over medium heat; reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered 20 to 25 minutes or until thoroughly heated and wieners are plump.
  • Remove wieners from sauce to serving platter; pour sauce into small bowl. Serve with toothpicks or bamboo knotted party picks.

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup barbecue sauce
2 cans (8 oz each) pineapple chunks in juice, drained
2 packages (14 oz each) cocktail-size smoked link sausages
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Skewers, if desired

Steps:

  • Spray 2 1/2- to 3 1/2-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In slow cooker, mix pepper jelly, brown sugar, barbecue sauce and pineapple. Stir in sausages.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 3 hours.
  • In small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Gradually add cornstarch mixture to sausage mixture, stirring constantly. Increase heat setting to High. Cook uncovered 1 hour longer or until glaze is thickened. Serve warm on skewers, if desired.
