1 1 1 large fryer, cut up, OR
4 4 4 chicken breasts, cut in half
1/2 1/2 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1 1 cup ketchup
1 1 1 cup Coca-Cola (not diet)
1 1 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

Wash chicken and dry thoroughly. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Place chicken in slow cooker. Combine remaining ingred. and pour over top of chicken. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. NOTE: You can place in skillet instead, exactly like slow cooker, cover with lid and simmer for about 1 hour or until chicken is done, turning once.

Definitely kid approved :) I usually serve it over rice or egg noodles. I have also used a whole chicken, bone-in chicken legs, or chicken breast; but the boneless skinless chicken thighs just work out better for my family's tastes

Ingredients

2-3 lb bonless, skinless chicken thighs
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
1 can(s) cola (regular- diet- caffeine free all okay)
1 c ketchup
1/4 c yellow mustard

Steps:

1. Place chicken thighs in the crock pot
2. Sprinkle the onion evenly over the chicken
3. In a small bowl stir together the soda, mustard, and ketchup.
4. Pour cola mixture over the chicken and onions.
5. Set crock pot on high for 4 - 5 hours (or until chicken is tender- I usually do the 'fork test'.. when it breaks apart fairly easily with a fork I call it done)

Slice ginger. Then, separate leaves of the scallion from the stalk. Chop the stalk of the scallion into lengths of ca. 5 cm. Do julienne some scallions for garnishing, in step 3.
Pour oil into a pot heated at medium temperature. Sauté the stalks of the scallion and sliced ginger until fragrant. Add chicken pieces into pot to sear them till they begin browning.
Add Coca Cola, soy sauce and dark soy sauce into the pot. Allow the gravy to simmer until it thickens. Turn the chicken pieces over every 10-15 minutes for better absorption of flavours. Garnish the dish julienned scallion.
