Sausage, Green Bean & Potato Casserole Recipe image

This is comfort food at is best. My husband loves this simple, easy, and delicious entrée.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 ½ pounds smoked sausage, sliced into ¼ inch thick rounds
2 pounds red potatoes, washed well and cut into 1 inch cubes
2 (15-oz) cans of cut green beans, drained
2 TBS of vegetable oil
¼ cup butter
2 large onions, peeled and chopped (1 cup)
3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
¼ cup water

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400*F. Spray a 9 by 13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Add the potatoes to a large bowl. Toss together with the oil, seasonings, pepper, and red pepper flakes, mixing well together.
  • Add the sausage to a skillet along with the water. Cook and stir over medium high heat until the water has evaporated and the sausage has browned. Add the sausage to the bowl of potatoes.
  • Add the butter to the skillet. Add the onions and garlic. Cook until the onions are translucent and soft without browning. Pour this into the bowl with everything else. Add the drained green beans and mix everything together well. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  • Cover tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork tender.
  • Uncover and enjoy! Serve hot.

1 and 1/2 lbs sausage kielbasa or smoked sausage (sliced 1/4 inch thick)
2 lbs creamer potatoes or small red potatoes (washed and sliced in half)
Green beans
1/8 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup butter
1 cup chopped onions
3 garlic cloves minced
1 tsp Slap Ya Mama seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 200C/400F
  • Add potatoes to a sealable food bag and add the oil, seasoning, pepper and red pepper flakes - shake the bag to coat completely
  • In a pan, fry the sliced sausage along with the water until most of it has evaporated, Remove the sausage and let cool
  • Now add the sausage to the food bag. Melt butter in a pan and cook the onions and garli. Allow this to cool also and then add to the food bag
  • Finally, add the green beans to the food bab also and give it a shake so all ingredients are well combined. Empty the bag into a 9x13 baking dish
  • Cover with foil then cook in the oven for 40 minutes

1 (16 ounce) package pork sausage
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
ground black pepper to taste
2 (16 ounce) packages frozen cut green beans
1 (2.8 ounce) can French-fried onions

Steps:

  • Crumble the pork sausage into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir until evenly browned. Drain grease, and set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic, and pepper. Mix in the sausage, then add the green beans, and stir until evenly coated. Pour half of the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with half of the fried onions. Spread remaining green bean mixture over the onions.
  • Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from the oven, and sprinkle the rest of the fried onions over the top. Return to the oven for 5 to 10 more minutes, or until the onions are toasty, and green beans are cooked to your desired doneness. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

2 pounds green beans
6 ounces Italian sausage
1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
2 tablespoon grated Parmesan
1 onion
1 clove garlic
3/4 cup 2-percent milk
4 ounces low-fat cream cheese
Pinch freshly grated nutmeg
pinch cayenne pepper
2 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
1 bunch spinach

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375˚F. Oil a 2-quart baking dish. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the beans and cook until just tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Drain and run under cold water to cool. Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and toss with the breadcrumbs and 2 tablespoons Parmesan. Wipe out the skillet and heat the remaining 2 tablespoons oil over medium heat. Add the onion, season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until very tender, 6 to 8 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute. 1-1/2 pounds bulk spicy pork sausage
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (31 ounces) pork and beans
1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15-1/2 ounces) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15-1/2 ounces) black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1-1/2 cups ketchup
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground mustard

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add green pepper and onion; saute until tender. Drain. Add remaining ingredients., Pour into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Cover and bake at 325° for 1 hour. Uncover; bake 20-30 minutes longer or until bubbly.

A comforting and hearty one-pot sausage stew with chorizo, smoked paprika and plenty of vegetables

2 tbsp olive or rapeseed oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 medium sticks celery, finely chopped
1 yellow pepper, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
6 cooking chorizo sausages (about 400g)
6 pork sausages (about 400g)
3 fat garlic cloves, chopped
1 ½ tsp sweet smoked paprika
½ tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp dried thyme
125ml white wine
2 x 400g cans cherry tomatoes or chopped tomatoes
2 sprigs fresh thyme
1 chicken stock cube
1 x 400g can aduki beans, drained and rinsed
1 bunch chives, snipped (optional)

Steps:

  • Heat 2 tbsp olive or rapeseed oil in a large heavy-based pan.
  • Add 1 finely chopped onion and cook gently for 5 minutes.
  • Add 2 finely chopped medium celery sticks, 1 chopped yellow pepper and 1 chopped red pepper and cook for a further 5 mins.
  • Add 6 chorizo sausages and 6 pork sausages and fry for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in 3 chopped garlic cloves, 1 ½ tsp sweet smoked paprika, ½ tsp ground cumin and 1 tbsp dried thyme and continue cooking for 1 - 2 mins or until the aromas are released.
  • Pour in 125ml white wine and use a wooden spoon to remove any residue stuck to the pan.
  • Add two 400g cans of tomatoes, and 2 sprigs of fresh thyme and bring to a simmer. Crumble in the chicken stock cube and stir.
  • Cook for 40 minutes. Stir in a 400g drained and rinsed can of aduki beans and cook for a further five minutes.
  • Remove the thyme sprigs, season with black pepper and stir through some snipped chives, if using. Serve.

1 c onion dip made with sour cream (i used the already made in the container)
1 c milk
1 Tbsp soy sauce
15 slice turkey sausage about 1/2 inch thick
1 c shredded swiss cheese
1 c mozzarella cheese
1 box stuffing mix, corn bread
1 c chopped mushrooms

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 3quart casserole dish.
  • 2. In the casserole dish mix together the green beans,onion dip, mushrooms, milk, soy sauce. After combined put in the sausage slices and combine so that the sausage is throughout the green bean mixture. Add the cheese and stir again.
  • 3. Sprinkle the stuffing mix on the top of the bean mixture and bake for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and brown on top.
