This bread machine white bread recipe creates an extremely soft, fluffy bread with a chewy texture. It's the fluffiest white bread recipe you'll find! Use it for sandwiches, toast, and dipping into soups and sauces.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 ½ cup warm water (approximately 110°F)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter, room temperature and sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
1½ tsp salt
2 tbsp white sugar
4 cups bread flour
2 ¼ tsp yeast (instant, active dry, or bread machine)

Steps:

  • Add the ingredients in the order listed to the bread maker pan. The ingredients are listed in the order that Cuisinart machines require them to go. Check your brand's manual for the correct order to add ingredients. If it differs, add them in the order that your manual states.
  • Select the basic/white bread setting. Choose the 2 lb loaf size and your preferred crust color. *see notes for making a smaller loaf
  • Optional: At the end of the last kneading cycle, remove the kneading paddle. If you miss this step, remove the paddle using oven mitts after the bread cools.
  • When baking is complete, remove from the bread pan immediately. Cool on a wire rack for at least 15-30 minutes before slicing.

1 teaspoon instant yeast
4 1/2 ounces (about 1 cup) bread flour
4 1/2 ounces (about 1 cup) white whole wheat flour
4 1/2 ounces (about 1 cup) rye flour
1 tablespoon wheat gluten
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon caraway seeds
1 1/2 cups cool water

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients to your bread machine in the order required by your bread machine (this is the proper order for the machine I have,)
  • Set the machine for the regular-style loaf, dark crust (if you have that option)
  • Remove the loaf from the machine when it is done baking. Let it cool completely on a rack before slicing.

This rye bread recipe produces one medium size loaf. Baking times can slightly vary depending on your bread machine baking cycle.

One and third cups of lukewarm water (300 ml)
One-third cup of brown sugar
2 Tablespoons of powdered milk
Two teaspoons of salt
Three cups of all-purpose flour
One cup of dark rye flour, also known as whole grain rye flour and pumpernickel flour
2 ½ teaspoons of bread machine yeast
3 Tbsp of room temperature butter
Two teaspoons of caraway seeds

Steps:

  • Add the water, sugar, milk, salt, and flour to the bread machine.
  • Add 2 ½ teaspoons of bread machine yeast. Active dry yeast or instant yeast will work as well.
  • Close the lid and set the baking cycle to Basic or White Bread Cycle. Press start.
  • About 5 to 10 minutes before the end of the kneading cycle, add two teaspoons of caraway seeds.
  • Let the bread machine finish the baking cycle. Once finished, remove the bread pan and place the loaf on a cooling rack for 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Steps:

  • Place all of the ingredients in the breadmaker in the order listed. Set the machine for the regular cycle and light color. Start the machine and go somewhere and do something else.
  • When the cycle is finished, removed the bread from the pan and let it cool on a rack. This is wonderful while still slightly warm with sweet unsalted butter, or refrigerate it and slice into thin even slices for sandwiches.

This recipe is the family favorite, and makes the best french bread (remove the caraway seeds) bar none. For one sleep-over for our daughter we went through four 1 1/2 pound loaves for @ 6 teenaged girls and a couple of parents.

1/2 cup rye flour
2 cups bread flour

Steps:

  • follow the directions for your particular brerad machine when adding the ingredients. Our machine starts with the warm water and other liquids first.
  • Add the dry ingredients in order with the yeast on top.
  • Set the machine to the Wheat Bread cycle, 1.5 lb loaf size, light or medium crust color.
  • Add the Whole Caraway Seeds when the fruit/nut beeper goes off, If your machine doesn't have a fruit/nut beeper the add the caraway seeds last.
