1/2 orange, halved
4 cloves
3 cups apple cider
2 cinnamon sticks
Brandy, to taste
1 cup heavy cream, whipped to soft peaks

Steps:

  • Stud the orange halves with cloves. In a medium saucepan, bring the cider, cinnamon and oranges to a simmer. To serve, add a shot of brandy to a cup. Ladle in the hot cider and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream.

5 cups apple cider
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
Splash of vanilla
3 cinnamon sticks
3 star anise pods
1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup bourbon
Whipped cream, for serving
Ground cinnamon, for dusting

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, combine the apple cider, vinegar, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon sticks, star anise and ginger. Heat over medium heat until the flavors come together, about 10 minutes.
  • Divide the mixture among 4 heatproof mugs and top each with a shot of bourbon and a squirt or dollop of whipped cream. Sprinkle over ground cinnamon and serve.

Garnish: 2 to 3 cloves (whole)

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Heat up the apple cider in a small saucepan and warm up an Irish coffee glass or mug.
  • Coat the bottom of the glass with honey and add the whiskey or apple brandy.
  • Fill with hot apple cider. Stir well .
  • Garnish with the lemon wedge, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Serve and enjoy.

3 ounces apple flavored spiced rum, such as Captain Morgan Sliced Apple
2 tablespoons honey
Juice from 1 large lemon
1 1/2 cups hot water
2 cinnamon sticks
10 to 12 thin slices Granny Smith apple

Steps:

  • Make the toddies: In a small pitcher, combine the rum, honey and lemon juice. Add the hot water and stir until the honey dissolves.
  • Serve: Arrange a cinnamon stick and a few apple slices in two mugs. Pour half of the toddy mix into each and enjoy.

4 Honeycrisp apples, juiced
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
4 ounces cognac

Steps:

  • Pour the juiced apples through a chinois or fine-mesh sieve into a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Keep hot until ready to serve.
  • Add the heavy cream to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a whip attachment. Add the powdered sugar, cinnamon and ginger and whip until it holds hard peaks.
  • Add 2 ounces cognac to the bottom of each of two rocks glasses. Carefully ladle and evenly divide the warmed apple juice into each glass. Very generously dollop each cocktail with the whipped cream and serve.

500 ml apple juice
100 ml honey
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 cinnamon stick
1 pinch ground nutmeg
400 ml water
120 ml fresh lemon juice
9 ounces of london dry gin or 9 ounces Bourbon

Steps:

  • To make spiced apple mix for 6 drinks. This will keep for 2 weeks if kept in the fridge.
  • To create Spiced apple mix: Mix all ingredients except Lemon juice and Alcohol in a air tight container or jar and stir well. Leave to infuse for 2-3 hours. Taste it to ensure spice has infused well enough.
  • When you are happy with the spice level, strain away the spices using a tea strainer, leaving just the liquid.
  • Pour the spiced apple mix into a pan or kettle and heat. DO NOT BOIL, take off of the heat just before it starts to boil. Pour contents equally into 6 Irish coffee glass or coffee mug. Add 1.5oz of Gin or Bourbon and 0.75oz Lemon juice per individual drink.
  • Garnish with Apple slice sprinkled with cinnamon powder.
  • Be sure it is cool enough to drink and enjoy!

I got this recipe off the Food Network. I made up a batch for a Christmas party. We stat outside around the fire pit and sipped on the cider--Every one loved it. What makes this really nice is your guests can make it with or without the bourbon, and adjust the other ingredients as well. I put the hot cider in a thermos carafe with a pump on it, and placed the cinnamon sticks, spiced butter, rum-flavored whipped cream, and seasoned graham crackers out for them to help themselves for refills.

3 cups apple cider
8 tablespoons butter (softened)
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
8 graham crackers
1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
2 teaspoons rum extract
2 cups Cool Whip
4 cinnamon sticks
4 ounces Bourbon

Steps:

  • Heat cider in non-reactive saucepan.
  • Combine butter, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. Whip until butter becomes creamy and the ingredients are incorporated.
  • Place graham crackers and pumpkin spice in plastic bag and crush with rolling pin.
  • Combine rum extract with Cool Whip.
  • In a footed coffee glass, or mug, place a single cinnamon stick and a slice of the spiced butter.
  • Pour 1 shot of whiskey (optional but recommended ;o)).
  • Ladle the hot cider into the glass or mug.
  • Garnish with a dollop of the rum-flavored topping and sprinkle on some graham cracker crumb mixture.
  • Serve warm.
