SPICY GARLIC EDAMAME



Spicy garlic edamame image

This spicy garlic edamame is ready like a flash perfect for your spicy cravings. It's a delectable munching, very addictive, vegan appetizer or snack.

2 cups water
1 cup edamame (with shells and frozen)
1 tsp vegetable oil (/sesame oil/canola oil)
1 tbsp garlic (minced)
1 tbsp chili garlic sauce (Asian)
1 tsp sesame seeds

Steps:

  • In a pan add water and bring it to boil.
  • Add edamame and cook for about 2 minutes or it cooked completely.
  • Strain and discard the water.
  • In the same pan, add the vegetable oil and the minced garlic.
  • Saute until the garlic changes its color slightly.
  • Add chili garlic sauce, sesame seeds, and the steamed edamame.
  • Toss well and serve immediately.

  • Cook 1 pound frozen edamame in the pods in salted boiling water until tender, 5 minutes; drain. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes and 2 sliced garlic cloves in a skillet over medium heat, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in the edamame, some lime juice and salt.

Garlic Chili Spicy Edamame are an easy to prepare snack that can be on the table in 10 minutes. Made with a wonderful creamy garlic and chili paste sauce!

10 oz edamame (precooked, 283gm)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp chili paste
1 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tsp soy sauce
sea salt flakes

Steps:

  • In a small fry pan on medium low heat add the sesame oil and garlic. Sauté for several minutes until a golden brown, do not burn. Remove pan from heat and cool.
  • In a medium bowl mix together the sautéed garlic, chili paste, mayonnaise and soy sauce.
  • Steam edamame in a microwave safe bowl for 2 minutes. Add the warmed edamame to the garlic chili sauce and toss to coat. Season with sea salt and serve warm.

1 (12-ounce) package edamame
2 teaspoons olive or vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
1/2 teaspoon chile powder
1/4 teaspoon each onion salt and ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon each paprika and black pepper

Steps:

  • Split the edamame pods and release the beans into a bowl. Discard the pods. Stir together the oil, basil, chile powder, onion salt, cumin, paprika and black pepper in a small bowl. Drizzle the mixture over the beans and toss to coat. Arrange the beans in a single layer in a shall baking dish. Roast, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring once, until the beans begin to brown. Serve hot as a vegetable side dish or cooled as a snack. Refrigerate any leftovers.

1 tablespoon new mexico chile powder or 1 tablespoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350.
  • Arrange edamame in a single layer on a baking sheet; and coat with cooking spray.
  • Combine chili powder and remaining ingredients.
  • Sprinkle over edamame; toss to coat.
  • Bake edamame at 350 for 1 1/2 hours, stirring beans every 30 minute.
