CAGED APPLE PUFF PASTRY RECIPE BY TASTY
Here's what you need: puff pastry, apples, butter, cinnamon, sugar, egg wash

Steps:
- Cut the puff pastry into 9 equal squares.
- Taking one of the squares, make 5 equal 1-inch (2 cm) cuts on 2 sides of the square.
- Make 3 vertical 1-inch (2 cm) cuts in between the edge of the uncut side and the 2 slits on the cut sides.
- Make 2 vertical 1-inch (2 cm) cuts under the top slit and above the bottom slit.
- Repeat this pattern until you have 6 rows with 3 cuts and 5 rows with slits and 2 cuts. Set aside
- Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C).
- Take another square place one of the apple halves in the center, peeled side facing up. Brush egg wash on each side of the square around the apple.
- Combine the butter, cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. Brush over the apple until it is completely coated.
- Take the other cut square of dough and stretch it over the apple, your cut should look like holes in the dough.
- Pinch the bottom of the dough together until it is sealed.
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until pastry is golden brown and puffed.

This is an easy apple strudel version with puff pastry that is ready in less than an hour. It tastes especially delicious fresh out of the oven with some vanilla ice cream.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Combine apples, 3/4 cup sugar, raisins, walnuts, and cinnamon in a large bowl for the filling.
- Dust a flat work surface lightly with flour. Unroll puff pastry and sprinkle lightly with flour. Roll out slightly and mark into 3 equal sections. Spoon filling into the central section then fold over the section on the left and brush with egg. Fold the right section on top, just like a letter. Make shallow diagonal cuts in the top layer of the apple strudel. Brush with egg and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.
- Bake in the preheated oven until apple studel is puffed up and golden, 25 to 30 minutes.

I make this puff pastry apple recipe with my mom. Its really fun to eat and yummy in the end. You can serve it with powdered sugar. I thought of this recipe myself while I was picking apples in the grocery store.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add apples, cover, and steam until tender, about 15 minutes.
- Mix softened apples, honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a bowl.
- Spread puff pastry squares on a flat work surface. Place 1 tablespoon of the apple mixture in the middle of each square. Fold the corners of each square upward and pinch the edges together to make sure the filling stays in place. Put the squares on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the pastry rises and turns golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.

- In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour and cinnamon; add apples and toss to coat. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each pastry sheet into a 12-in. square. Cut each into four squares. , Spoon 1/2 cup apple mixture into the center of each square; fold diagonally in half and press edges to seal. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet., In a small bowl, combine the butter, sugar and cinnamon; brush over pastry. Bake at 400° for 12-16 minutes or until golden brown. - Combine the lemon and 4 cups water in a large bowl. Place the sliced apples in the water to keep them from browning.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain water from apples, and place them into the hot skillet. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes. Add brown sugar, and cinnamon, and cook, stirring, for 2 more minutes. Stir together cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water. Pour into the skillet, and mix well. Cook for another minute, or until sauce has thickened. Remove from heat to cool slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Unfold puff pastry sheets, and repair any cracks by pressing them back together. Trim each sheet into a square. Then cut each larger square into 4 smaller squares. Spoon apples onto the center of each squares. Fold over from corner to corner into a triangle shape, and press edges together to seal. Place turnovers on a baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between them.
- Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until turnovers are puffed and lightly browned. Cool completely before glazing.
- To make the glaze, mix together the confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl. Adjust the thickness by adding more sugar or milk if necessary. Drizzle glaze over the cooled turnovers.

Steps:
- Remove puffed pastries from freezer and thaw according to package
- Slice the apples in half from top to bottom
- Remove the core ends and then scoop out the core in the center
- Slice the apples into very thin slices
- Fill a medium sized bowl half full of water
- Squeeze the lemon juice into the water.
- Place the sliced apples in the water and microwave for 5 minutes until slightly tender.
- Drain the apples into a colander.
- When pastries are thawed, place them flat on a floured surface.
- Roll the pastries out with a rolling pin the flatten just a little more.
- Cut each pastry into 6 equal slices.
- One at a time, spoon apricot preserve mixture onto a slice of pastry.
- Place 7-9 apple slices along one half of the pastry slice with the peel side facing out.
- Fold the pastry in half to cover the apples.
- Starting on one end, roll the pastry and apples to the other end of the pastry.
- Place in a muffin tin.
- Continue with the other pieces of pastries until you have 12 apple roses.
- Place a pan of water on the bottom rack of oven so the bottom of pastries do not burn.
- Bake at 375 for 40 -45 minutes.
