4 cups chopped plums, with skin
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar, divided
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
pinch salt
3/4 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  • Place chopped plums in the baking dish and toss with granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and cornstarch until coated.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the rolled oats, flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Slowly pour in the melted butter, mixing with a fork until it turns crumbly.
  • Pour the topping mixture over the plums. Gently move it around with your hands until it evenly covers the plums. It's okay if the plums are not completely covered.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 40 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
  • Store any unused portion in the refrigerator.

5 cups Prune plums (chopped )
2 tbsp Flour
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
1/4 cup Brown Sugar (lightly packed )
1 cup Rolled oats
1/2 cup All purpose flour
1/4 cup Brown sugar (lightly packed )
1/4 cup Hemp hearts
1 cup Unsalted Butter (melted )
1 tsp cinnamon

Steps:

  • Pit and chop prune plums.
  • Mix, flour, sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon in with plums, set aside.
  • Combine flour, oats, cinnamon, hemp hearts, and sugar in a bowl.
  • Melt butter and add it to oat mixture.
  • Place fruit in bottom of pie plate, top with crisp topping
  • Bake at 350 deg for 20 minutes or until golden brown and fruit is bubbling at the sides.
  • Let sit for 10 minutes to set, then serve with ice cream.

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar, divided

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
5 cups sliced fresh plums (about 2 pounds)
1 tablespoon quick-cooking tapioca
2 teaspoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the oats, flour, 1/4 cup sugar, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. With clean hands, work butter into sugar mixture until well combined. Add nuts; toss to combine. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. , Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the plums, tapioca, lemon juice and remaining sugar. Transfer to a greased 9-in. pie plate. Let stand for 15 minutes. Sprinkle topping over plum mixture. , Bake at 375° until topping is golden brown and plums are tender, 40-45 minutes. Serve warm.

1 tablespoon white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ cup rolled oats
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
⅛ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Toss plums, flour, sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, and ground cinnamon into a bowl. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed. Spread evenly in a 9-inch square, glass baking dish.

1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup flour

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 pound Italian prune plums, pitted and halved
3 tart apples (about 1 1/2 pounds), peeled, cored and sliced
3/4 cup oat bran
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use a little of the butter to grease a five- to six-cup baking dish. Melt two tablespoons of the butter.
  • Toss plums and apples together in a bowl with melted butter, a quarter cup oat bran, a half cup brown sugar and a half teaspoon cinnamon. Spread in baking dish.
  • Use fork or pastry blender to combine remaining oat bran, sugar and cinnamon with remaining butter unti crumbly. Spread over fruit. Bake about 40 minutes, until bubbly. Allow to cool to just warm and serve with ice cream.

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, combine the first four ingredients; simmer 15 minutes and set aside.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Make topping:
  • On a baking sheet toast almonds until golden, 10 to 15 minutes. Cut butter into bits. In a food processor blend flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup oats, cinnamon, salt, and butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. In a bowl stir together flour mixture, remaining 1/4 cup oats, and almonds.
  • Make filling:
  • In a small bowl stir water and cornstarch until combined. Halve and pit plums. In a 12-inch skillet cook plums and sugar over moderate heat, stirring, until sugar is melted. Stir in cornstarch mixture and simmer, stirring, 15 minutes, or until mixture is thickened. Transfer plum mixture to a 15 x 9-inch (3-quart) baking dish.
  • Sprinkle topping over plums. Bake mixture in middle of oven 40 to 45 minutes, or until topping is crisp and golden, and cool on a rack 10 minutes.
  • Serve dessert warm with ice cream.
