CREAMY PAPRIKA PORK

When I was little, I would often ask my mom to make "favorite meat." She knew I was requesting this homey pork recipe. It's been in my family for more than 30 years and it's still a favorite! -Alexandra Barnett, Forest, Virginia

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pork tenderloin (1 pound), cut into 1-inch cubes
1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons paprika
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
Hot cooked egg noodles or rice
Minced fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

  • Toss pork with flour and seasonings. In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat; saute pork until lightly browned, 4-5 minutes., Add cream; bring to a boil, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan. Cook, uncovered, until cream is slightly thickened, 5-7 minutes., Serve with noodles. If desired, sprinkle with parsley.

Posted for Zaar World Tour 2005. I haven't made this yet. I have posted it as it was from an Eastern European recipe site; I know I'll certainly be cutting down on that oil!! I have also tried to put this into logical English...

2 lbs pork, good quality
1/2 cup lard or 1/2 cup oil
4 -5 leeks, finely chopped
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/3 cup red wine
1 onion
parsley
1 small chili pepper

Steps:

  • Chop the meat and brown it in the oil, remove from pan.
  • In the same oil, fry the finely cut leeks. Add salt, the tomato paste, paprika and pepper. Pour in 1/2 a cup of water, add the wine and the meat.
  • Let it stew on low heat until the juice has thickened. Serve sprinkled with chopped onions, parsley and a small hot pepper. You can also serve it with boiled potatoes or rice.
