PINEAPPLE LUAU STYLE (GRILLED)

Pineapple Luau Style (Grilled) image

When having a BBQ I like to include fruits and vegetables. This is a pineapple recipe that is great along side grilled chicken or brats. The sweetness is heavenly and the grilling subsides some of the strong acid the fruit yields

PINEAPPLE LUAU

Pineapple Luau image

This is a great girl's night recipe. I don't know where my mother found it, but I do know that once we bring it around to a new set of friends, we are asked to bring it back again! You can find the cream of coconut in the drink mixers section - it's not the coconut milk found in oriental food sections. Vodka is a 750 ml bottle. Serving number depends on the size of your cups!

SHRIMP-AND-PINEAPPLE SKEWERS

  • Grilled Pineapple Meatball Skewers. These delicious skewers take less than 20 minutes to prepare and cook. They’re so simple to make that even your kids can help if they enjoy cooking.
  • Fruit Kabobs. When I make finger foods for a party, I always try to find the ones that look the prettiest and take the least amount of effort to make.
  • Pineapple Upside Down Cupcakes. Making these tiny, beautiful cupcakes is so easy! Put a bit of brown sugar, some crushed pineapples, melted butter, and a cherry in a muffin tin.
  • Hawaiian Hot Dogs with Grilled Pineapple and Teriyaki Mayo. Even hot dogs taste better when they’re Hawaiian-style hot dogs. I’m not sure whose idea it was to pile pineapples, teriyaki mayo, peppers, and onions on top of hot dogs, but that person is a genius.
  • Aloha Burgers. It’s unbelievable how effortless it is to turn some foods from “regular” foods into “Hawaiian” recipes. Sometimes, it’s as simple as adding some teriyaki sauce and a slice of pineapple.
  • Spam Musubi. These tasty treats combine two unlikely things: Japanese rice balls (musubi) and Spam. Somehow, though, it works. The presentation is really what sells me on these.
  • Grilled Ham and Pineapple Kabobs. The secret to this recipe, too, is in the marinade. First, marinate your ham slices overnight in the ginger, brown sugar, fruit juice, and soy sauce mixture.
  • Hawaiian Salsa. I love colorful salsa! The more colors I can work into a salsa recipe, the happier with that recipe I’ll ultimately be. This one is one of my favorites, and I always serve it in the pineapple bowl as described.
  • Pineapple Cream Popsicles. Anything with the phrase “two-ingredient” in the title is something that I’m going to enjoy. These two-ingredient pineapple cream popsicles are no exception.
  • Bacon-Wrapped Pineapple Bites. If the thought of bacon-wrapped pineapple bites doesn’t make your mouth water a little, then I’m not sure what to think about you.

  • Hawaiian Salsa. One of the things I love about luaus is how many foods are served out of pineapples. There’s just something special about this presentation that adds to the party spirit.
  • Pineapple Cream Popsicles. If there’s one thing people rave about when they go to Disney World, go on a Disney Cruise, or vacation at the Disney resort in Hawaii, it’s the sweet and insanely addictive Dole Whip dessert.
  • Bacon-Wrapped Pineapple Bites. In Hawaii, pork is a very popular meat, and like all Americans, they love their bacon. And when combining the two, what you get is a sweet, salty, spicy, meaty appetizer that will send your taste buds to seventh heaven!
  • Grilled Ham and Pineapple Kabobs. Another favorite pork and pineapple dish is this recipe for grilled pineapple and ham kabobs. They are super easy to put together, and you can throw them right on the grill for that authentic BBQ flavor.
  • Spam Musubi. Okay, let’s be honest, what list of luau party foods would be complete without Spam? While it’s not really considered a “high-quality” meat product, Hawaiians have found some pretty clever ways to make this humble canned meat taste absolutely marvelous!
  • Aloha Burgers. There are just some burgers out there so big, delicious, and juicy they scare us a little. For example, looking at the above picture, you almost get the feeling this Aloha burger has a 50/50 chance of eating you for dinner!
  • Hawaiian Hot Dogs with Grilled Pineapple and Teriyaki Mayo. This recipe takes your average hotdog and gives it a delicious Hawaiian makeover to create one of the best hot dogs you’ll ever taste!
  • Pineapple Upside Down Cupcakes. Okay, folks, now this is one dessert I’m super excited to tell you about! Pineapple upside-down cake is my absolute favorite cake and is one of my top 10 desserts.
  • Fruit Kabobs. A fun, healthy, and colorful dessert you can make for your next luau is fruit kabobs. The best thing about fruit kabobs is you can really sub in any fruit you desire.
  • Grilled Pineapple Meatball Skewers. Is it really a party without meatballs, folks? I’m not sure, but this recipe makes a convincing argument with a savory combination of sweet grilled pineapples and juicy homemade beef meatballs.
