Steps:
- Cook and stir onions and garlic in large nonstick skillet on medium heat 3 to 4 min. or until crisp-tender. Add to turkey, beans, corn and seasonings in medium bowl; mix just until blended. Shape into 8 (1/2-inch thick) patties.
- Cook, in batches, in skillet 8 to 10 min. on each side or until done (165ºF), topping with cheese for the last 2 min.
- Serve on buns topped with tomatoes and avocados.

My twist on a recipe from the Weight Watchers Complete Cookbook. It's a favourite in my family, and one of the reasons my weight loss journey was so successful! Turkey is lean, very nutrient dense and easily jazzed up. You won't be asking "where's the beef?" for long!

Steps:
- Combine the minced shallot, soy sauce, Worcestershire, ketchup, coarse pepper, garlic powder, cumin and paprika in a large mixing bowl.
- Add ground turkey and mix well, but do not mash the meat to oblivion (no one likes tough turkey!)
- Stir in the Monterey Jack to evenly distribute.
- Shape into 4 patties, indenting the centres of each to fix the "burger bulge" (when they poof as they cook).
- Grill or broil until cooked through, about 6 minutes a side.
- Top each patty with 2 slices of cooked turkey bacon and serve on toasted buns.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook onions in oil with salt and pepper in an 8-inch skillet over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until golden, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to bowl, add turkey, mix gently but thoroughly.
- Turn out turkey mixture onto a sheet of wax paper and divide into 8 equal mounds. Pat 1 mound into a 4-inch patty and top with 1 slice of cheese. Put a second mound on top, patting it out to enclose cheese, pinch edges together to seal. Make 3 more burgers.
- Grill burgers, turning once, until just cooked through, 10 to 12 minutes. While burgers are cooking, toast rolls.
- To make the mayonnaise, combine all ingredients in a blender or mini food processor and puree, scraping down sides as necessary. Spread mayonnaise on toasted rolls. Dress with lettuce.

- Prepare grill for cooking on high heat.
- Mix jalapeno pepper, garlic, onion and ground beef in bowl.
- Separate beef mixture into about 7 equal bundles.
- Place a thick slice of pepper jack cheese into center of each beef bundle (about the size of a thick butter pat). Form bundles into patties.
- Brush grill grate with oil.
- Grill hamburger patties 5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
