PET URINE REMOVER

Pet Urine Remover image

I have used everything on the market including vinegar and dish soap. Nothing worked especially on cat urine. I have been using this recipe for years now. It works! I have 4 cats and 2 dogs, and when one has an accident I use this and it takes the smell away instantly! No more having to buy expensive removers from the store.

Time 1m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 (8 ounce) bottle hydrogen peroxide
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 -2 drop liquid dish soap

Steps:

  • Mix all together gently and pour in a spray bottle.
  • Do no shake up this mix or you may have a lot of foam. I have also used a watering can this works well also.
  • Spray onto urine stain and walk away. Allow to dry. No need to rub or scrub the area. For tough odors you may have to repeat.
  • I would also check your fabric/carpet for color fastness before using due to the peroixide content. I have never had any problems with any fabric changing colors from this mix.

WHAT 7 URINE SMELLS MEAN, ACCORDING TO A UROLOGIST

From livestrong.com
  • If Your Urine Smells Like Ammonia... You may be dehydrated. Urine is mostly made up of water, with the addition of waste products like urea. If you have foul-smelling or pungent urine that has a strong ammonia scent, then it's likely you're dehydrated, leading to more concentrated urine.
  • If Your Pee Smells Fishy... You might have an infection. Advertisement. Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that can affect people of any sex.
  • If You Have Sweet-Smelling Urine... It might be an infection, or it could be diabetes. Advertisement. Some patients who have UTIs actually describe the smell of their urine as sweet, Dr. Agarwal says.
  • If Your Pee Smells Strong... It could be dehydration, or maybe it's the supplement you're taking. As we noted before, your pee is more concentrated when you're dehydrated, so it has that strong pee smell.
  • If Your Urine Smells Really Bad... You may have a structural problem. Sometimes the GI tract can form an abnormal connection to the urinary tract, called a fistula.

URINE ODOR: CAUSES AND TREATMENT FOR FOUL OR SWEET …

From goodhousekeeping.com
  • Dehydration. Not getting enough fluids means your pee contains less water and a higher concentration of those waste products the kidneys are trying to filter out, so you’ll probably notice an ammonia-like smell and your urine will be a darker shade of yellow.
  • Urinary tract infection (UTI) A UTI can also cause your urine to give off an ammonia smell, but you’ll also likely have other recognizable symptoms such as burning or pain when urinating, blood in urine and an urgent or frequent need to urinate, says Dhruti Patel, M.D., a urologist at Mount Sinai Health System in New York City.
  • Diabetes. Uncontrolled or poorly managed diabetes may make your urine smell sweet or fruity because it contains extra glucose. You may also notice other signs that your blood sugar levels are off, such as feeling thirsty or tired, fruity smelling breath, or nausea and vomiting.
  • Liver disease. A very strong smell of ammonia or mustiness could signal liver disease; when your liver isn’t working as well, there will be more ammonia in your urine and blood.
  • Infection. Bladder infections such as bacterial vaginosis may cause your pee to smell fishy and foul, and you’ll often have other symptoms such as unusual discharge.
