GARLIC PARMESAN BREAD
This hearty aromatic bread has just a hint of honey and garlic. It's one of my favorite breads. It goes with anything from bologna sandwiches to spaghetti. -Jami Blunt, Hardy, Arkansas

- In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed). Freeze option: Securely wrap and freeze cooled loaf in foil and place in resealable plastic freezer bag. To use, thaw at room temperature.

Dress up ordinary French bread by topping it with butter, Parmesan cheese and seasonings. It's a quick side dish that will complement the beef stew or most any meal. But don't expect leftovers...your family will have a hard time stopping at just one slice!

- In a bowl or food processor, blend butter, oil and Parmesan cheese. Add garlic, parsley and lemon-pepper; mix or process until smooth. , Slice the bread on the diagonal but not all the way through, leaving slices attached at the bottom. Spread butter mixture on one side of each slice and over the top. Wrap in foil and bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes.

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the milk, sugar, 3 tablespoons butter, salt and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes., Punch the dough down. Turn onto a floured surface; divide into 36 pieces. Shape each piece into a 6-in. rope. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 25 minutes. , Melt remaining butter; brush over dough. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garlic salt. Bake at 400° until golden brown, 8-10 minutes. Remove from pans to wire racks.

My daughter got this recipe from her mother in-law Diana. Everybody just loves this bread when she brings it to a family gathering. This is not a crisp bread but you can place it under the broiler for a few seconds to crisp up if desired.

- Slice French bread loaf into thick slices , but keeping the loaf intact.
- Pressed garlic cloves through a garlic press and mix into the soft butter ; Add olive oil and the grated Parmesan cheese and mix until creamy.
- Place butter mixture between each slice on french loaf ; Wrap loaf in aluminum foil and Bake @ 400° for 10-12 minutes.

- Mix the milk, sugar, salt, and margarine together.
- In a small bowl mix the warm water (115 degrees) and the yeast; mix well; proof for a few minutes.
- Add the yeast mixture to the above milk mixture.
- Add the cheese.
- Add the flour to the right consistency.
- Knead 100 times.
- Put in a greased bowl and rise in a warm place till double in bulk--about 1 hour.
- Knead again for about 1/2 minute.
- Put into 2 small greased bread pans.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour being careful not to burn it; if it starts to look too brown, cover it with foil and continue baking.
- NOTE: If you four-times this recipe, it will make 5 good size loaves and will use 2 large Parmesan cheese.
