ITALIAN PARMESAN BREAD FOR BREAD MACHINE



Italian Parmesan Bread for Bread Machine image

I've been making this bread for years without measuring, and finally decided to write it down. My most requested bread from my bread-lovin' son. Makes the house smell divine!! You can easily increase the amounts of seasonings to your taste. (NOTE: Many people seem to be needing to add extra water, so I'm adding an adjustment to the recipe.)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/2 cups water (or more, as needed)
4 cups flour
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon italian seasoning (or pizza seasoning)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 1/2 teaspoons yeast

Steps:

  • Add ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer.
  • Mine is water first, then flour, then seasonings and cheese, lastly yeast.
  • Run on basic or delay cycle.

Steps:

  • Put into the bread machine in the order that the manufacturer recommends.
  • Basic cycle; light crust; loaf size.
  • Watch after it begins to knead to see if you need more liquid or more flour as you want it the right consistency--add a little at a time till it is right.
  • Cool on rack.

This has a wonderful taste and texture. It makes good sandwiches and delicious toast. Put it on the light setting so the cheese doesn't get too brown on the outside. Yummmm!

4 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons vital wheat gluten
1 tablespoon salt (scant)
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup parmesan cheese
2 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
1 cup milk
3/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Add the ingredients to your bread machine according to your directions.
  • Set it at the basic setting.
  • Then at the light crust setting.
  • Makes a 2 pound loaf.
  • After it has mixed for a couple of minutes, check it; if it needs a tad more liquid, add a little water a teaspoon dribble at a time.
  • Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup water (70° to 80°)
2 tablespoons plus 1-1/2 teaspoons butter, softened
1 tablespoon honey
2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups bread flour
2-1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

Steps:

  • In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed). Freeze option: Securely wrap and freeze cooled loaf in foil and place in resealable plastic freezer bag. To use, thaw at room temperature.
