I was looking around for a good and easy morning casserole. I did some fiddling with a couple recipes a found and came up with this gem!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 c melted butter
1 c brown sugar
1 loaf of texas toast
4 eggs
1 1/2 c milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
1/2 tsp cardamon, ground
powder sugar for sprinkling

Steps:

  • 1. Melt Butter in microwave. Add brown sugar to butter and stir tell well mixed.
  • 2. Pour butter mixture into bottom of a 9 x13 baking dish sprayed with non stick spray. Make sure to spread it around to cover whole pan.
  • 3. Beat eggs, milk, Vanilla, Cardamon, and Cinnamon together.
  • 4. Lay single layer of Texas toast in pan. Spoon 1/2 of the egg mixture on top of toast. Then add 2nd layer of Texas Toast on top and spoon the remaining egg mixture on top.
  • 5. Cover and chill in fridge overnight.
  • 6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover dish and then bake for 30 minutes. Remove cover and then bake for another 15 minutes.
  • 7. Sprinkle with powder sugar (Optional) and serve with warm Maple syrup

1 loaf (1 pound) unsliced cinnamon-raisin bread
5 eggs
2 egg yolks
1 cup half-and-half cream
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
Fresh strawberries or maple syrup, optional

Steps:

  • Slice ends from bread and discard or save for another use. Slice remaining loaf into eight 1-in. slices and arrange in the bottom of two greased 8-in. square baking pans. , In a large bowl, beat the eggs, yolks, cream, brown sugar, pie spice and flavorings. Gradually add milk, beating until well blended; pour over bread. Cover and chill overnight. , Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. , Drizzle with butter. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45-60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Serve warm; top with strawberries or syrup if desired.

This is a breakfast casserole that you can prepare the night before and bake in the morning. It has a wonderful flavor, and is sure to become a family favorite.

2 sticks butter, melted
2 cups light brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 loaf French bread, cut into 2-inch slices
2 cups milk
8 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
aluminum foil

Steps:

  • Pour melted butter into an 11x15-inch baking dish. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the butter and top with bread slices, making sure slices are placed close together.
  • Mix milk, eggs, and vanilla extract in a bowl until thoroughly combined; pour over bread in the baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place the covered casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover, and bake until puffed and lightly golden, about 15 minutes more.

1 loaf (1 pound) cinnamon-raisin bread
1 package (8 ounces) reduced-fat cream cheese, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
8 large eggs
1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
1 cup canned pumpkin
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup fat-free milk
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Confectioners' sugar, optional
Maple syrup, warmed, optional

Steps:

  • Cut each slice of bread into quarters. Arrange half of the bread in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish; layer with cubed cream cheese and remaining bread, pressing down slightly., In a large bowl, whisk eggs, evaporated milk, pumpkin, brown sugar, fat-free milk, spices and salt. Pour over top. Refrigerate, covered, overnight., Preheat oven to 350°. Remove casserole from refrigerator while oven heats. Bake, covered, 40 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with pecans. Bake, uncovered, 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned and a knife inserted in center comes out clean., Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving. If desired, dust with confectioners' sugar and serve with maple syrup.

This delicious overnight French toast reminds me of a cross between creme brulee and a very moist, custardy bread pudding. Serve it with butter and maple syrup and a side of bacon for a scrumptious breakfast that everyone will love!

2 cups half-and-half
1 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons white sugar

Steps:

  • Place bread slices in a generously greased 9x13-inch baking dish, overlapping the slices.
  • Place eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a medium bowl and mix thoroughly with a rotary beater or whisk. Pour mixture over bread, making sure all slices are moistened. Cover and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.
