1 boneless beef chuck steak (3/4 inch thick and 3/4 pound)
1 to 2 teaspoons canola oil
1/4 cup beef broth
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup dry red wine or additional beef broth
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1-1/2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
1/4 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, brown beef in oil on both sides. Transfer to a 1-1/2-qt. slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine the broth, tomato sauce, wine, onion, garlic, parsley, rosemary, salt and pepper; pour over beef. Cover and cook on low until meat is tender, about 8 hours. , Remove beef and keep warm. In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir in cooking juices. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Serve with beef.

Here's what you need: onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, dried parsley, water, russet potatoes, carrots, yellow onion, chuck roast

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 cup water
2 russet potatoes, roughly chopped
3 carrots, roughly chopped
1 yellow onion, chopped
2 lb chuck roast

Steps:

  • Mix the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, parsley, and water in a small bowl or liquid measuring cup.
  • Place the potatoes in a large, gallon-sized freezer bag. Add the carrots, onion, and chuck roast.
  • Pour the marinade over the contents in the bag. Seal the freezer bag and squeeze out any excess air. Gently mix the contents together so that the marinade reaches the potatoes.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months.
  • When ready to enjoy, thaw completely and pour the contents into slow cooker.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours, or until the roast is cooked through and tender.
  • Enjoy!

2 lbs beef roast
14 1/2 ounces diced tomatoes, with rosemary & oregano
10 3/4 ounces cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 teaspoons dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in gallon freezer bag(s).
  • Thaw bag in bowl overnight in refrigerator. Cook in crockpot on low for 6-10 hours.

Got this recipe/tip from a friend, great for the winter time, and it leaves your crock pot clean! Please note that my crockpot is a heavy ceramic one from the 80's. In view of a reviewers comment - I can only ask that you please cook for the full length of time stated in the recipe for your first time, keeping an eye on it of course, and then adjust from there.

1 beef roast, that will fit your crock pot
2 minced garlic cloves
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 oven cooking bag

Steps:

  • For OAMC place all ingredients in the oven bag and into a plastic freezing bag, and freeze.
  • When ready to cook, take straight from the freezer - no need to thaw - add salt and pepper and place in prewarmed crock pot in oven roasting bag only.
  • Make sure top of oven bag is next to crock pot lid.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours, and reduce to low for another 3 -4 hours.
  • Remove carefully from crock pot and place into a container that will hold juices of meat.
  • Split bag, remove roast, drain juices into a saucepan, and thicken with a little cornflour to suit.
  • If cooking a thawed roast, reduce cooking time by 2 hours.
  • Please use your own judgement for cooking times, as every one's crock pot is different.
