Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Press pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
- Beat corn syrup, white sugar, and eggs together in a bowl using an electric mixer on low speed until well blended; stir in chocolate chips, pecans, butter, bourbon, and vanilla extract. Pour mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven until set, 45 to 50 minutes.

Looks like a Diabetic coma to me but you never know I just might give it a try.From what I can understand by reading the article the reason it's called "Not Derby Pie " is because the recipe and name for "Derby Pie" is trademarked so they had to make minor changes in the recipe and the name.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Have an 8- or 9-inch pie plate at hand.
- Place the unbaked pie shell in the pie plate. Sprinkle the bottom of the pie shell evenly with chocolate chips.
- Whisk together the eggs, sugar and flour in a mixing bowl.
- Gradually mix in the melted butter, then add the nuts and vanilla.
- Carefully pour the mixture over the chocolate chips, in a circular motion so it does not disturb the chips.
- Bake for 1 hour, until the filling is set.
- Serve slightly warm, with whipped cream if desired.
