Best Bread Machine Dinner Rolls image

Soft, fluffy and golden brown, these delicious bread machine dinner rolls are perfect for all occasions.

1 cup warm water
2 tbsp margarine ((butter works well too))
1 tsp salt
1 egg beaten
1/4 cup sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tsp quick rise yeast ((also known as instant yeast))
melted butter for brushing buns

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to bread machine in the above order, and press "dough" setting.
  • When done, transfer dough to a lightly-floured counter top and shape into a ball.
  • Cut ball in half, and then cut those two pieces in half and so on, until you have 16 pieces. (sprinkle more flour on your counter if dough starts to stick)
  • Shape your pieces into round buns, and place in a sprayed 9 x 13 baking dish or 2 smaller dishes. Leave about an inch between buns.
  • Brush buns with melted butter, and cover the baking dish with Plastic Wrap. Set in warm spot (about 80 degrees Farenheit) until buns have doubled in size - about 40 mins. (I usually heat my oven to about 200, and then turn my oven right OFF, and place the dish in there with the door open a crack.
  • Once doubled, remove plastic wrap, and bake 12-15 minutes at 375 degrees.

This copycat recipe for Starbucks' world-famous morning buns is made with a no-knead dough, and is beginner friendly.

1 cup luke warm water
1 tsp dry yeast
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup Unsalted Butter (melted)
3 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar (for filling)
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (melted)

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients together in a large bowl, minus the flour. Whisk until well combined.
  • Using the spatula, fold in the flour one half at a time. Cover with plastic wrap and let dough sit overnight at room temperature.
  • Place dough on a well-floured surface.
  • Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape. Spread melted butter over it, followed by a generous sprinkling of sugar. Roll the dough into a log and seal the end by pinching it with your fingertips.
  • Cut the dough into even-sized pieces with a sharp knife (about 15 pieces). Grease a deep baking dish with butter.
  • Place the buns into the baking dish. They will have plenty of space between, but will rise and spread during the baking process (see photo).
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.

1 1/2 cups oat milk
300 g white bread flour
244 g whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons margarine
1/8-1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 cup five-grain rolled cereal
1 cup craisins
2 teaspoons instant yeast

Steps:

  • Put all ingredients in a 2-pound bread machine on dough or homemade mode. After it's done (including 1 hour rise in the machine), cut and roll into 12 balls. Roll each ball to about 1/2" thick and place on a greased baking sheet. Let rise another 10-30 minutes. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes, flip over, and then bake another 10 minutes.
  • Variation: Sub craisins for 2 Tbsp. homemade everything bagel seasoning (make it without salt!) to make a savory version.
  • Variation: Sub craisins for raisins and cinnamon.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup water (70° to 80°)
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 large egg
1-1/4 teaspoons salt
3-1/4 cups bread flour
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder
1 package (1/4 ounce) quick-rise yeast
EGG WASH:
1 large egg
4 teaspoons water

Steps:

  • In bread machine pan, place the first eight ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough setting. Check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1-2 tablespoons water or flour if needed., When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Divide and shape into 24 balls. Roll each into an 8-in. rope; tie into a loose knot. Tuck ends under., Place 1-1/2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Cover with a kitchen towel; let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 400°., For egg wash, in a small bowl, whisk egg and water; brush over rolls. Bake 8-9 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks; serve warm.

1 (3 3/4 ounce) package butterscotch pudding mix (not instant)
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Arrange rolls in greased fluted tube pan. Sprinkle dry pudding mix over rolls.
  • Cook butter and remaining ingredients over a low heat until sugar dissolves and mixtures bubbles; pour over rolls.
  • Cover tightly with foil and let stand on counter over night.
  • Next morning, remove foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes, then invert carefully onto serving dish.

  • Add 7-grain cereal and rolled oats to a large bowl, or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a kneading hook. Pour boiling water over. Stir, then let stand until water cools to just lukewarm, about 10 minutes.
  • *Be sure mixture is not too hot when you add the yeast. For instant yeast, you want it no more than 125F. For active dry yeast, it should be more like 110F.
  • Add yeast, wheat bran, brown sugar, ground flax seed, sunflower oil and salt. Stir to combine. Add mashed banana and walnuts and stir in. Add 1 1/2 cups of the flour and stir to combine. *If mixing by hand, remove dough from bowl to a very well floured surface if it gets too hard to stir and begin adding flour through kneading instead.
  • Continue adding flour 1/4 cup at a time at first, then a tablespoon at a time until you have dough that forms a ball, but that is quite moist and just a bit sticky. If making by hand, remove dough to a greased bowl. If making in a stand mixer, just leave the dough in the mixer. Cover bowl or stand mixer bowl with plastic wrap and let stand 45 minutes.
