Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs eggs
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

Steps:

Cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars together in a bowl; beat in eggs.
In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir into butter mixture. Put dough in refrigerator for 1 hour.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls and put on baking sheets. Flatten each ball with a fork, making a crisscross pattern. Bake in a preheated 375 degrees F oven for about 10 minutes or until cookies begin to brown.

I like this recipe because it is slightly lower in fat than others I've seen.The original recipe called for 1 cup of white sugar. I use half, and it still tastes sweet, and I like sweet!

1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 egg white
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup regular oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups M&M's

Steps:

Heat oven to 375 degrees.
In large bowl, beat the sugars, peanut butter, butter, vanilla and eggs with electric mixer until creamy.
Stir in flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt until well blended.
Stir in the M&M candies.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly with a fork.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until light brown.
Cool, then remove from cookie sheet to a cooling rack.

Place butter and peanut butter in a large bowl. Using a hand or a stand mixer, mix until combined then add both sugars. Cream until smooth. Mix in egg, vanilla, and milk and mix on medium speed until combined.
Mix in baking soda and salt, then slowly mix in flour and mix just until the batter is smooth and comes together. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl during mixing. Stir in M&Ms.
Scoop 2 tablespoon balls of dough and place 2-inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. Using a fork, create a criss cross pattern on the cookies to flatten slightly. (Tip: if the dough starts sticking to the fork, dip it in a bit of granulated sugar.)

Slowly mix in the baking soda and flour. Do not overmix. Fold in the M&Ms with a wooden spoon. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Drop chilled dough by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet or silicone baking mat. I pressed a few M&Ms on top of the dough balls. Press the balls down (only slightly) since they won’t spread much while baking. Bake for 8-9 minutes. Cookies will be soft and may appear undone. They will firm up as they cool.
