MILK MARINATED PORK CHOPS WITH APPLESAUCE
A wonderful cooler weather meal, pork chops and applesauce go so good together! Marinating the pork chops in milk make them very juicy and tender. To save time prepare the applesauce ahead of time and serve it at room temperature. Plan ahead the chops have to marinate in milk and salt for 1-4 hours.

PORK CHOPS AND APPLESAUCE
Steps:
- Marinate pork chops:
- Stir together milk and 2 teaspoons salt in a shallow 3-quart dish, then add pork chops. Marinate, covered and chilled, turning over once, at least 1 hour.

- Peel, core, and coarsely chop apples, then stir together with remaining applesauce ingredients in a 3-quart heavy saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, then reduce heat to moderately low and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until apples are falling apart, 15 to 20 minutes. - Fry pork chops:
- Preheat oven to 200°F.
- Stir together bread crumbs, garlic, rosemary, thyme, and remaining teaspoon salt in a shallow bowl.

PORK CHOPS WITH CREAMY APPLESAUCE
This is down-home enough to make a comforting meal, and definitely up-scale enough to serve for a fancier occasion. Reducing the sauce in the skillet the chops themselves have cooked in provides a lot of good flavour. I served this with steamed new potatoes on the side because the sauce went perfectly with the potatoes as well. Parsleyed mushrooms were also on the table and it was a wonderful meal!
