5/8-2/3 lb chicken thigh, boneless
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sake
1 tablespoon sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Prick the chicken skin with a fork. Combine soy sauce, sake and sugar, stir until the sugar dissolves. Put the chicken and the sauce in a Ziploc bag. Marinade for 1 hour or more.
  • 2. Place 4 or more disposable chopsticks on the oven proof dish, place the marinated.

  • 3. Put oven seat on to cover the chicken, heat in a microwave oven for about 10 minutes. Lightly toast under the broiler for crispier result, if desired. Stand 2 minutes before serve. Check my blog for more tips with photo!

I came up with this in a moment of intense laziness and WOW! It's an incredible recipe that literally takes no more than ten minutes to make...including cooking time! How many chicken recipes can make that claim?? Ingredients aren't fancy and all you need is a bowl, spoon and some saran wrap! The chicken thighs come out SO moist and tender. My husband went nuts for this recipe...and I usually cook fancy stuff! Please...please review the recipe if you try it. Thank you!

8 boneless skinless chicken thighs
3/4 cup soya sauce
3/4 cup white wine
2 -3 dried chilies, depending on taste
1 teaspoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Mix soya sauce, chilis, cornstarch and white wine in a glass/pyrex microwave safe bowl.Make sure there are no more cornstarch lumps.
  • Place washed chicken thighs in bowl and toss with sauce.
  • Cover bowl with saran wrap and place in microwave on high for 6 minutes.
  • Carefully remove bowl from microwave and carefully remove saran wrap. Baste chicken with sauce, then recover and microwave again for 4-6 minutes, depending on strength of microwave.

Try this easy, sticky Asian-style teriyaki chicken for a speedy weeknight supper - it takes just 20 minutes to make! Serve it with sticky rice and steamed greens

2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
6 skinless and boneless chicken thighs, sliced
2 large garlic cloves, crushed
1 thumb-sized piece ginger, grated
50g runny honey
30ml light soy sauce
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp sesame seeds , to serve
4 spring onions, shredded, to serve
sticky rice, to serve
steamed bok choi or spring greens, to serve

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a non-stick pan over a medium heat. Add the chicken and fry for 7 mins, or until golden. Add the garlic and ginger and fry for 2 mins. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, vinegar and 100ml water. Bring to the boil and cook for 2 - 5 mins over a medium heat until the chicken is sticky and coated in a thick sauce.
  • Scatter over the spring onions and sesame seeds, then serve the chicken with the rice and steamed veg.

  • Combine the Teriyaki Sauce ingredients in a small bowl or cup and mix well until the sugar dissolves (note 4).
  • If the thickness of the chicken is uneven place a fillet on a cutting board, skin side down, make a cut horizontally and outward where the meat is thick and butterfly it (see the Video).Poke the skin with the tip of the knife in several places so that the sauce will get through to the flesh better.
  • Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Place the chicken in the pan, skin side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the skin gets cooked to a golden brown. Turn the chicken over and cook for about 3 minutes (Note 5). If a lot of oil comes out of the chicken fat and skin, absorb excess oil with a paper towel (Note 6).
  • When the chicken is nearly cooked, add the sauce, shake the pan to even out the sauce, and put the lid on. Cook for 30 seconds.
