Categories     Appetizer     Dip     Snack

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 ounces Crab Meat
8 ounces Cream Cheese, Softened
1/2 cup Sour Cream
2 tbsp Mayonnaise
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
1 1/4 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp Dry Mustard
1/4 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 pinch Garlic Salt
2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, and garlic salt until smooth.
  • Stir in 2 tbsp of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Fold crab meat into the mixture.
  • Pour mixture into a 1 quart casserole dish.
  • Top with remaining cheese, or more. But not too much because you don't want the cheese to overtake the taste of the crab.
  • Sprinkle Old Bay Seasoning on top of the crab dip sparingly.
  • Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 30 minutes or until the top is browned.
  • Serve with crackers, toasted bread, celery sticks, or parmesan crisps. And of course keep the Old Bay Seasoning handy for extra shakes!

BEST MARYLAND CRAB DIP

Born and raised in Maryland, I grew up eating hot crab dip. This Maryland Crab Dip Recipe is made with jumbo lump crab meat and sure to wow!

Provided by Jordan

Categories     Appetizer

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 12

8 ounces whipped cream cheese
1/2 cup tartar sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce, (optional)
2 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 pound jumbo lump or lump crab meat*
1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
fresh chopped parsley, (to garnish)
sliced and toasted baguette, (for dipping)
olive oil cooking spray

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F. Lightly grease a shallow baking dish with cooking spray. I like to use my pie dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese, tartar sauce, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, Old Bay, and lemon juice. Next fold in the crab meat, half the Monterey Jack cheese, and half the mozzarella cheese with a rubber spatula. Careful not to break up the crab meat!
  • Transfer the mixture into your baking dish, and top the dip with the remaining shredded cheese. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and dip is heated through.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve with toasted baguette.

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 ounces (224g) block cream cheese, room temperature*
1/4 cup (60g) mayonnaise
1/2 cup (120g) sour cream
1 and 1/4 cups (155g) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 and 3/4 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning*
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
1 pound fresh lump crab meat*
optional: 2 dashes of hot sauce (or to taste)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (191°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl using a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese on medium-high speed until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute.
  • Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, 1 cup cheddar cheese, ground mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using). Beat on medium-high speed until combined. Using a spoon or rubber spatula, gently fold in the lump crab meat. If you used hot sauce, taste, then add more hot sauce if desired.
  • Transfer to a 9-inch (or slightly larger) baking pan, pie dish, or oven-safe skillet. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbly around the edges.
  • Serve warm.
  • Cover and store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave or in a 350°F (177°C) until warmed throughout.

Yield 8-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

12 ounces crabmeat (lump or back fin)
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning

Steps:

  • Soften cream cheese and mix with 1 cup of shredded cheese.
  • Mix all of the ingredients in with the cheese mixture.
  • Fold in the crab meat.
  • Bake covered for 30 minutes at 350°F

  • You can serve it with crackers but I prefer torn pieces of french or bakery style bread.
  • You can adjust the seasoning to your taste.
  • I usually sprinkle a little Old Bay over the top with the shredded cheese.
  • I also use 1/3 less fat cream cheese and lite shredded cheese to make a lighter version.
