2 1/2 cups Cauliflower ((cut into small florets; ~10.5 oz))
1 cup Red bell pepper ((cut into coarse pieces; ~1 large pepper))
1/3 cup Bacon bits ((cooked))
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
2 tbsp Olive oil
1 tbsp Lemon juice
1 tbsp Fresh thyme
1/2 tsp Garlic powder
1/4 tsp Sea salt ((plus more to taste))
1/4 tsp Black pepper

Steps:

  • You can serve immediately, but for even better flavor, chill for a few hours.

3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, or more to taste
4 cups small diced broccoli florets (about 1 1/2 pounds)
4 cups small diced cauliflower florets (about 2 pounds)
8 slices bacon, diced and cooked
2 shallots, diced (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans

Steps:

  • Whisk together the yogurt, mayonnaise, honey, vinegar, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in the broccoli, cauliflower, bacon, shallots, cranberries, and pecans, tossing to coat. Cover and chill 1 hour.

12 slices bacon
1 head fresh broccoli, diced
1 head cauliflower, chopped
½ red onion, diced
¾ cup sunflower seeds
1 cup creamy salad dressing
1 ½ tablespoons white wine vinegar
¼ cup white sugar

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
  • Combine the bacon, cauliflower, broccoli, onion and sunflower seeds or pecans.
  • Whisk together the salad dressing, vinegar and sugar. Pour over salad and toss to coat. Refrigerate and allow to chill before serving.

Found this recipe on the net somewhere and have adapted it to suit our tastes. It continues to be a family favourite to this very day.

2 heads broccoli, broken into flowerettes
1 head cauliflower, broken in flowerettes
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
3 -4 stalks celery
1 onion, finely diced
1/2 cup white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups olive oil

Steps:

  • Blanch broccoli and cauliflower until just tender.
  • Drain and rinse with cold water.
  • In a large bowl combine cauliflower, broccoli, peppers, celery and onion.
  • In a saucepan, place the vinegar, poppy seeds, sugar, mustard, salt and oil.
  • Boil until the sugar has disslved.
  • Pour the marinade over the vegetables and mix well.
  • Chill overnight before serving.

1 large head cauliflower (about 2 pounds), cut into small florets
1/4 cup white-wine vinegar
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
2 tablespoons brine-packed capers, drained and rinsed
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Working in batches, blanch cauliflower until just tender, about 2 minutes. Drain; transfer to a bowl.
  • Whisk together vinegar, onion, and mustard in a small bowl. Pour in oil in a slow, steady stream, whisking constantly until emulsified. Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle vinaigrette over warm cauliflower, and add capers and parsley. Stir to combine.
  • Cover, and refrigerate overnight or up to 1 day. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

1 medium bunch broccoli, cut into florets (about 4 cups)
2 cups seedless red grapes
6 green onions with tops, sliced
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
2 cups mayonnaise
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 to 1 pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
Leaf lettuce, optional

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the cauliflower, broccoli, grapes, onions and mozzarella cheese. Combine the mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, sugar and vinegar; pour over vegetable mixture and toss to coat., Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Just before serving, stir in bacon. 2 heads cauliflower, cut into small flowerets
1 bunch broccoli, cut into small flowerets
1 green pepper, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, drained and chopped
1 (16 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
1 (16 ounce) can black olives, drained and chopped
1 (10 ounce) jar green olives, drained and chopped
1 (16 ounce) jar zesty Italian dressing
1 (2/3 ounce) package Good Seasonings Italian salad dressing mix (mixed with oil and vinegar)
1 pint cherry tomatoes

Steps:

  • Chop all of the vegetables and place in large bowl. Mix dry dressing mix with oil and vinegar as directions suggest, add prepared Zesty dressing and pour over the vegetables.
  • Marinate covered overnight. Just before serving add the cherry tomatoes.

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Fill a large bowl about halfway with water and then fill with ice.
  • Place broccoli and cauliflower into the pot of vigorously boiling water and allow to boil for 2 minutes. Quickly drain and transfer to the bowl of ice water. Once vegetables are completely chilled, transfer to a colander to drain well. Pour off some of the water from bowl and replace with fresh ice. Repeat process with carrots, cooking about 3 minutes.
