1/2 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
2 1/2 cups fresh mango, diced, frozen
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon ginger, ground
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated, chopped
3 -5 ice cubes

Steps:

  • Combine the buttermilk and yogurt in the blender.
  • Add the mango, lime juice, fresh and ground gingers.
  • With the blender running, add the ice cubes one at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

1 mango, peeled, pitted and chopped
1 banana, peeled, chopped and frozen
1 cup green grape, seedless and cut in half
1/4 inch ginger, peeled and chopped

  • In a blender, combine orange juice, mango, banana, grapes and gingerroot. Process as directed until smooth.
  • Options: ground flax seed, protein powder, psyllium seed are all excellent ingredients to add to your smoothie.

This is a delicious magenta colored smoothie that I made up tonight w/ ingredients I had on hand. It turned out quite delicious so I figured I would try sharing. I didn't measure ingredients when mixing so I have estimated them, but I think they are fairly close and I am sure can be played w/ to meet personal tastes. Its also a non-dairy drink which is a bonus! And its very nutritious. Recipe Zaar tries recognizing the pomegranate blueberry juice as just bluberry juice and leaves it out of the nutrition info, but that is where many of the health benefits are.

1 cup pomegranate-blueberry juice (Tropicana Pure)

  • Push mixture through sieve to remove most of the seeds.
