Time 1h25m

Yield 20

Number Of Ingredients 13

¾ cup butter, softened
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
2 cups white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup butter, softened
¾ cup light brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
4 tablespoons water, or more as needed

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Combine butter and chocolate in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Melt chocolate, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and stir in white sugar. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract. Mix in flour until batter is smooth and pour brownie batter into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until top is dry and edges have started to pull away from the sides of the pan, 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  • Cream butter and brown sugar together in a bowl. Stir in flour, salt, vanilla extract, and chocolate chips. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring after each addition until dough reaches cookie dough consistency. Spread cookie dough on top of cooled brownies.

KNOCK-YOU-NAKED BROWNIES

Knock-You-Naked Brownies image

Categories     dessert

Time 3h50m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 stick butter, melted, plus more for greasing
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1/3 plus 1/2 cup evaporated milk
One 18.5-ounce box German chocolate cake mix (I use Duncan Hines)
1 cup finely chopped pecans
60 caramels, unwrapped
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-by-9-inch baking pan.
  • Begin by pouring 1/3 cup evaporated milk into a bowl with the cake mix. Add the melted butter and the chopped pecans. Mix the ingredients together; it'll be pretty thick!
  • Divide the dough in half down the middle. Press half of it into the bottom of the prepared pan to make the first brownie layer. Bake until slightly set, 8 to 10 minutes. Then remove from the oven and set aside.
  • While the brownie layer is baking, in a double boiler (or glass bowl set over a bowl of simmering water) combine the caramels and the remaining 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Stir occasionally until the caramels are totally melted and the mixture is smooth. Pour the caramel mixture over the first baked layer, spreading so it's evenly distributed. Sprinkle the chocolate chips all over the top.
  • Next, on a clean surface or a sheet of waxed paper, press the remaining dough into a square shape slightly smaller than the baking pan. Carefully set it on top of the chocolate chips. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool to room temperature. Cover the pan and refrigerate the brownies for several hours to allow them to set.
  • When you're ready to serve them (or give them to someone you love!) sprinkle generously with the powdered sugar and cut them into large rectangles before removing from the pan. These are absolutely killer, my friends. Make them for someone you really, really love... or someone you want to love you back.
  • It'll work. Guarantee it.

KILLER BROWNIES

Killer Brownies image

Like anyone else who was asked to make or bring brownies to a function @ the last minute, you're looking for a quick fix. It's here & has continued for over 30 years & there's a lot of latitude for how you use ingredients in your pantry.

Categories     Other Desserts

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs (room temperature)
1 cup all purpose flour
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 cup chopped pecans/walnuts
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (reserve 1/2 cup for top)

Steps:

  • 1. Combine softened butter with melted chocolate in food processor adding sugar, process until creamy (you may use stand or hand mixer also.). Add eggs one at a time. Pulse processing after each egg.
  • 2. Add flour with vanilla till just mixed. Add marshmallows, nuts and 1 cup chocolate chips just until mixed. I usually do this by hand so these ingredients don't get pulverized.
  • 3. Pour into 9 X 13 inch , lightly greased (sprayed) pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. When brownies separate from sides of pan and has crust on top, remove from oven and spread the remaining cup of choc chips evenly over top. Give them approx. 5-10 to melt so you can spread them evenly with an off set spatula or the back of a spoon. This is great with ice cream or plain when cool.
  • 4. Please feel free to use a brownie mix (like the SAM's club variety or Walmart brand). Follow the instructions for the brownie on the box you will still need to add chips, nuts, and marshmallows.

KILLER BROWNIES

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/4 pound Butter
5 tablespoons Butter
1 package Chocolate Cake or Brownie Mix (18 1/4oz)
2/3 cup Evaporated Milk
1 tablespoon Water
3/4 cup Walnut Pieces
1 cup Caramel Ice Cream Topping
2/3 cup Chocolate Chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the bottom and sides of a 9-by-9-inch baking pan.
  • Whip ¼ pound plus 4 tablespoons of the butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Blend the cake mix, evaporated milk, water and ½ cup of the walnut pieces with the whipped butter to make a smooth, thick batter.
  • Spoon half the batter into the baking pan. Bake until the top appears dry and firm, 25 to 30 minutes. Meanwhile, cover the remaining batter and set it aside in the refrigerator. Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Spread ¾ cup of the caramel topping evenly over the brownies. Sprinkle ⅓ cup of the chocolate chips evenly over the caramel. Cover the baking pan with foil and put it in the freezer until the caramel becomes firm. Reheat the oven to 350 degrees. Remove the remaining brownie batter from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature.
  • Remove the baking pan from the freezer and spoon the remaining brownie batter evenly over the caramel. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of the walnut pieces evenly over the batter. Return the brownie pan to the oven and bake it until the top appears dry and firm, an additional 25 to 30 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool.
  • Melt the remaining ⅓ cup of chocolate chips in a saucepan. Stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter until smooth. Drizzle the chocolate over the cooled brownies. Heat the remaining ¼ cup of caramel topping in the microwave until it can be easily poured, about 20 seconds. Drizzle it over the brownies. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Dust the brownies generously with confectioners' sugar. To serve, cut into pieces and remove from the pan. Makes 9 or 16 brownies.
