This recipe was given to me when discussing ruhbarb at an aquasize class. It is really good. Jeff was our life guard. His mom says she has subsituted rhubarb with peaches or plums.

Number Of Ingredients 16

2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, chopped fine
2 cloves garlic, minced fine
2 cups stewed rhubarb
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chili powder
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons tomato paste
3/4 cup water
1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika

Steps:

  • Saute onions and garlic in butter until soft.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Cook over medium low heat for 30 minutes or until desired thickness is achieved.

4 cups tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups cola
1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
1 1/2 cups chili sauce
1/4 cup prepared mustard
1/2 cup bottled steak sauce
2 lemons, juice of
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons fresh ground black pepper
2 tablespoons garlic salt
1 tablespoon dry mustard

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine the tomato sauce, cola, vinegar, chili sauce, mustard, steak sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, oil, soy sauce, and Tabasco. Stir well. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • In a small bowl or glass jar with a lid, combine the brown sugar, pepper, garlic salt, and mustard. Stir or shake to blend.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the tomato sauce and stir well.

My Mom's Bar-B-Que Sauce image

My mom taught me how to make this sauce. It can be used on chicken or ribs. It's especially good made into ham or pork bar-b-que sandwiches! It is also a great marinade. This recipe is easy to make and can be stored in the refrigerator for weeks.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups ketchup
1 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons yellow mustard
1 cup light brown sugar

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Stir well to make sure the brown sugar and mustard is disolved. Bring to a boil, then simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Can be brushed on cooked chicken or ribs and grilled for ten minutes, or made into ham or pulled pork bar-b-que sandwiches using 3 lbs. of meat.
  • Enjoy!
