CHEESY CORN CASSEROLE
There are a lot of corn casseroles out there, but this one is extra good because of the tangy cheddar cheese!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl combine whole corn, cream-style corn, sour cream, egg, dry corn bread mix, onion and 3/4 cup of Cheddar cheese. Mix well and pour into prepared dish.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake for another 20 minutes.

JEANNE BICE'S LIFE IS JUST A BOWL OF CHERRIES DESSERT
This is from Bice's new cookbook, "A Quacker Factory Christmas. Bice gives an alternate title to this recipe: Life is a parfait glass of cherries. Because that is what this dessert is: cherries and cream cheese layered in a parfait glass. Of course, if cherries aren't your favorite things you can substitute any other flavor of pie filling and still have an utterly decadent dessert!

- Mix cream cheese and sugar in a bowl until smooth and gently stir in Cool Whip.
- In parfait glasses, layer 1/4 cup cream cheese mixture and 2 tablespoons cherry pie filling. Repeat layers util you reach the top of the glass.

Gravy to accompany a holiday turkey is usually a problem. Some cooks hesitate to make it for fear of lumps. Others hate making it when their guests are crowding around. Here is a foolproof recipe you make make before your guests arrive. Recipe is from Jeanne Bice's new book "A Quacker Factory Christmas." i am guessing at the times as my first time to make this will be this Thanksgiving.

Steps:
- In a large saucepan, heat the chicken broth and turkey gravy, stirring as it simmers.
- Add the drippings from the turkey and stir some more.
- Add 1/4 cup sherry or cognac and reserve the rest. Turn up the heat until your mixture is just at the boiling point.
- Turn it down to a simmer, and s-l-o-w-l-y add the packets of dry gravy, stirring constantly. Continue to stir to avoid lumps.
- Adjust gravy at this point if it is too thick or too thin. Add the rest of the cognac or sherry for flavor to your liking.
