1-13 Keep these peppery little pastry-like morsels on hand in the freezer packed in an airtight container to protect their shape. Serve them along with other appetizers or as an accompaniment to soups and salads. This is Quick & Tasty

1/2 c butter or margarine
1 1/2 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp dried oregano leaves
1 egg slightly beaten
2 Tbsp parmesan cheese
4 Tbsp sesame seeds

Steps:

  • 1. Cream butter. Add flour, cayenne, salt and oregano. Mix until butter is completely blended into the flour mixture. this may be done in the food processor using the steel blade.
  • 2. Blend in the egg and work dough with hands. or process until mixture looks like cookie dough. Add the parmesan cheese and blend in well.
  • 3. Divide into quarters. Divide each quarter into halves and roll out to make a long, finger-thick strand on surface that is sprinkled with sesame seeds. strands should be about 8 inches long.
  • 4. divide each strand into 6 pieces making a dozen pieces from each quarter of dough; four dozen in all. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 5. Bake at 400*F. for 12 to 15 min. or until pale golden. Serve hot or atroom temperature.
  • 6. NOTES: You may wish to add these goodys to a cookie tray for a surprising variety from the sweet choices.

1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
4 tablespoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Cream the butter.
  • Add flour, cayenne, salt and oregano. Mix until butter is completely blended into the flour mixture. May do in food processor.
  • Blend in the egg and work dough with hands until it looks like cookie dough. Add the Parmesan cheese and blend in well.
  • Divide into quarters. Divide each quarter into halves and roll out to make a long, finger- thick strand on a surface sprinkled with sesame seeds. They should be about 8 inch long.
  • Divide each strand into six pieces making a dozen pieces from each quarter of dough. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 400 deg. for 12-15 minute or until pale golden.
  • Great hot or at room temperature
  • Makes about 48.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup whole milk
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°. In a small bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Gradually add milk and stir to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface, knead gently 3-4 times. Roll into a 10x5x1/2-in. rectangle; cut into 12 breadsticks. , Place butter in a 13x9-in. baking pan. Place breadsticks in butter and turn to coat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake until golden brown, 14-18 minutes. Serve warm.

1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 egg, beaten
1 -2 teaspoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, shredded
2 -4 tablespoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Cream the butter. Add the flour, and salt. Mix until butter is completely blended into the flour mixture.
  • Blend in the egg, parmesan cheese and sesame oil. Mix until it looks like cookie dough.
  • Press out on parchment paper in a 10 X 15 inch sheet pan until 1/4 inch thick and press in the sesame seeds. (Try to have a rectangle and equal thickness.).
  • Use a pizza cutter, and cut into 1/2 X 1/2 inch pieces and spread out on the parchment paper so they are not touching.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minute until golden.

3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for work surface
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 cup buttermilk
1 1/4 cups sesame seeds, toasted
1 large egg
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • In the bowl of a food processor, pulse flour, baking powder, and salt until combined. Add butter; pulse until mixture resembles coarse meal. Transfer to a medium bowl; stir in buttermilk and 1 cup sesame seeds until mixture forms a dough. Divide into quarters; wrap in plastic. Chill 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk together egg, sugar, and soy sauce. Transfer one piece of dough to a lightly floured work surface; roll out into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick. Use a sharp knife or pizza wheel to cut into strips, about 3/8 inch wide and 10 inches long. Brush strips with egg mixture; sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup sesame seeds.
  • Arrange strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake until just golden, 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Repeat with remaining dough.

6 cups bite-size Shredded Wheat
1 package (9-1/4 ounces) corn chips
1 jar (8 ounces) salted peanuts
1 package (8 ounces) pretzel sticks
1 package (7 ounces) sesame snack sticks
1 package (7 ounces) shoestring potato sticks
1 pound butter, cubed
3 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons onion powder
2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons garlic salt

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first nine ingredients. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Add seasonings; stir until dissolved. Pour over cereal mixture; stir to coat. , Place in large greased roasting pans. Bake, uncovered, at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Store in airtight containers.
