Homemade orange ice tea image

Orange, green tea, lemon and lime. What do you get if you combine these? Yes indeed, a delicious refreshing ice tea recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 10

125 grams sugar
250 ml orange juice (freshly squeezed, about 3 oranges)
500 mL water
2 bags green tea
1 liter sparkling water (cold)
1 orange
1 lemon
1 lime
3 sprigs mint
ice cubes

Steps:

  • Put the water in the pan and add the sugar.
  • Bring the water to a boil and cook until the sugar is dissolved. Turn off the heat and put the tea bags in the water.
  • Let stand for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags and cool to room temperature.
  • Put the tea, sparkling water and orange juice in a big bowl.
  • Mix well and pour in the jar.
  • Slice the orange, lemon and lime in wedges and put them with the ice tea.
  • Add the sprigs of mint and ice cubes and serve.

7 cup water
1 can (12 ounces) frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
5 teaspoons instant tea
1 teaspoon whole cloves

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine water, orange juice concentrate, sugar, lemon juice and tea. Tie the cloves in a small cheesecloth bag; add to saucepan. Simmer, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes. Remove spice bag. Serve hot. Store leftovers in glass container in refrigerator.

8 black-tea bags
12 sprigs mint, plus more for serving
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup fresh orange juice, strained, plus thinly sliced orange rounds for serving
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, strained, plus thinly sliced lemon rounds for serving
Whiskey or gin, for serving (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine tea and mint in a large heatproof container. Pour 8 cups boiling water over; let steep 5 minutes. Discard tea bags and mint; stir in sugar. Let cool completely, then stir in orange and lemon juices. Refrigerate until chilled, at least 2 hours.
  • Fill glasses with ice. Stir tea and pour into glasses. If desired, stir a shot of whiskey or gin into each. Garnish with citrus rounds and mint sprigs; serve immediately.

This is a recipe I found in my cookbook called Favorite Brand Name Classic Recipe Collection. It's really easy to make and the oranges offer a really refreshing citrus boost to the iced tea. I didn't include chilling time in the preparation time.

2 oranges
4 cups boiling water
5 tea bags
ice cube
honey or brown sugar, to sweeten

Steps:

  • With a vegetable peeler, peel each orange in a continuous spiral, removing only the outer colored layer of peel.
  • In a large pitcher, pour boiling water over the tea bags and orange peel. Cover and steep 5 minutes. Remove tea bags. Chill tea mixture with peel in a covered container.
  • To serve, remove the peel and pour iced tea over ice cubes in tall glasses.
  • Sweeten to taste with honey (or brown sugar). Garnish with orange slices and fresh mint leaves, if desired.

  • Place peach, clementine, and sugar in a pitcher. Mash the fruit using a spoon; add water and tea bags and stir. Refrigerate until cool, about 1 hour. Remove fruit and tea bags using a slotted spoon.

  • In a saucepan, bring 1 qt. of water to a boil. Remove from the heat. Add tea bags and mint; let stand for 10 minutes. , Discard tea bags and mint. Pour tea into a large pitcher. Add lemonade drink mix, orange juice and remaining water; stir well. Refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice.
