Basic Shampoo. This recipe is a favorite of Janice Cox, author of the Natural Beauty at Home blog. According to the clean beauty expert, "homemade shampoo contains fewer ingredients and won’t have the same foaming action you may be used to, but it cleans your hair and scalp just as effectively.
Olive Oil Shampoo. Treehugger / Sanja Kostic. Another one of Cox's favorites, this olive oil shampoo uses only three ingredients to achieve clean, naturally moisturized hair.
Calming Shampoo. Calming chamomile in this shampoo recipe will help soothe your scalp and your senses. Ingredients. 1 cup water. 1 cup unscented organic Castile-style vegetable soap.
Dandruff Shampoo. Ingredients. 1/2 cup organic Castile-style vegetable soap. 2 tablespoons distilled water. 2 tablespoons sweet almond oil. 1/2 cup coconut oil.
Dry Shampoo. Dry shampoo is ideal between washes to absorb the natural oils and give your hair volume. Ingredients. For light hair: 1/4 cup cornstarch. 1 teaspoon crushed rosemary, lavender, or another fragrant herb or 24 drops of organic essential oil of your choice.
