HOMEMADE DOG FOOD SEASONING
I keep a BIG batch of this homemade dog food seasoning blend on hand at all times because it's fast and easy for me, but you don't have to go as big as I did. Simply combine equal parts of the herbs you are using in a jar and shake to combine. I use this over top of my 100% human grade homemade dog food, but you can also use it over kibble or canned food.

Steps:
- Combine all of the ingredients in a small jar with a tight fitting lid and shake to combine.
- Start incorporating small amounts of this seasoning blend into your dog's diet and work up from there. A small shake or two will be enough over a small dogs food and you can work up to feeing a tablespoon at each feeding for larger dogs like ours.

I have made dog food ever since my dogs were puppies - 4 years now! They are very healthy and have never had any problems. You can also add it to their kibble. They love it! My dogs are large breed so they get 2 cups in the a.m. and p.m.

DIY WHOLESOME HOMEMADE DOG FOOD
This is a well-balanced recipe, though it is always wise to rotate a variety of foods in your dog's diet. This makes enough to feed my Boston Terrier for several days. It's much more wholesome than store-bought dog food, and costs about the same as canned dog food. Recipe yield depends on the size of your dog(s).

Steps:
- Bring water and brown rice to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until rice is tender and liquid has been absorbed, 45 to 50 minutes. This should yield about 1 cup cooked rice.
- Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add turkey and Italian seasoning. Cook and stir until turkey is browned and crumbly, 4 to 6 minutes. Add eggs and scramble with the turkey mixture until eggs are cooked, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Place spinach in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute, and then at 30-second intervals until easy to stir and warm to the touch. Drain excess liquid.
- Transfer turkey mixture, cooked rice, and spinach to a large bowl. Add spinach, tomatoes, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, celery, and sunflower oil and mix until well combined.

DOG FOOD SEASONING
We have one dog with skin troubles, and another who's a picky eater. Brewer's yeast is supposed to be very good for the skin and coat, and we figured we'd add some flavor to entice them to eat their dinner. All ingredients have been cleared by our veterinarian. We've also had good results using Missing Link supplement in place of the brewer's yeast. You can use this to top canned, dry, or homemade food. While some may believe that garlic is harmful to dogs, veterinary nutrition experts are finding that this is not true, and that powder forms of onion and garlic do not contain the same compounds that make their fresh counterparts harmful. If in doubt, ask your vet. Please note that Zaar does not recognize Brewer's Yeast as an ingredient, and that nutrition facts are being calculated without the bulkiest ingredient. The nutrition facts are incorrect.
