HAM SPINACH QUICHE



Ham Spinach Quiche image

This quiche is so easy to make and great way to use leftover ham. Great way to start your day and it keeps well.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 uncooked pie shell (I used a frozen 9 inch shell but you can make your own)
1 1/2 cups cooked chopped ham
1 1/2 cups chopped fresh baby spinach
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or your favorite shredded cheese
6 eggs
1 cup evaporated milk (can use regular milk or heavy cream)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Dash hot sauce or cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl toss together the ham, baby spinach, green onions and 1 cup of the cheddar cheese. Add this to your pie shell. In the same bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg and cayenne.
  • Pour this over the ham mixture in your pie shell. Sprinkle on the other 1/2 cup cheese. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 50 minutes or until center of pie is set. Makes 1 quiche.

1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 ½ cups milk
1 cup diced cooked ham
3 eggs, beaten
¾ cup baking mix (such as Bisquick ®)
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 10-inch pie plate.
  • Press spinach in an even, compact layer into the bottom of the prepared pie plate.
  • Beat milk, ham, eggs, baking mix, onion, Cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese together in a bowl; pour over the spinach layer.
  • Bake in preheated oven until quiche is set in the middle, 35 to 40 minutes.

3 cups packed baby spinach, chopped
6 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
1/2 tsp salt
1 9-inch frozen pie crust
1/4 lb. sliced ham, chopped
1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil, place it in oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Mist a medium skillet with cooking spray and warm it over medium heat. Cook spinach, stirring often, until wilted. Remove spinach to a paper towel-lined plate and pat dry. 2. Combine eggs, half-and-half and salt in a large bowl and whisk until well mixed. Arrange spinach on pie crust bottom. Scatter ham over soinach. Sprinkle cheese over ham. Pur egg mixture into shell. 3. Place quiche on baking sheet and bake until fillinf is set and crust is golden, about 40 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes, slice into wedges and serve hot.

One of our favorite quiches. From a local hospital cookbook my mom gave me. We omit the salt as the cheese adds enough salt for us. *Note: Make sure the pie crust is a deep dish! We have made this using a regular one before with messy results!

2 tablespoons flour
10 ounces frozen spinach, chopped, cooked, and very well drained
1 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
3 slices cooked bacon (optional, we use turkey bacon)
1/2 teaspoon salt
pepper, to taste
1 unbaked deep dish pastry shells, 9 inches

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Toss grated cheese with flour.
  • Add spinach, milk, eggs, bacon, and seasonings; mix well.
  • Pour into pastry shell.
  • Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until set.
