GRAPE NUT PUDDING
This was my mother-in-law's recipe. It is very good. That is all I can say. If you like Grape Nut Pudding, I think you'll like this. I always double the original recipe, so the ingredients below are for the double one, but if you want a smaller one, you can cut it in half.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and grease a 13x9 casserole dish with butter.
- Soak Grape-Nuts cereal in hot water to soften for about ten minutes. Drain water.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together milk, cream, vanilla, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour mixture into the casserole dish along with the cereal. Mix to evenly distribute the cereal.
- Set casserole dish in a roasting pan and fill halfway with water. Bake for about 60-75 minutes until custard is firm all the way through. It took closer to 75 minutes in my oven.
- Once firm, remove from oven and let cool. Serve warm or cold. Leftovers must be kept covered and refrigerated for up to 3 days.
GRAPE NUTS CUSTARD
Your family will go nuts for this heritage Grape-Nuts pudding-a creamy custard with the cereal "crust" on the bottom. It's delicious hot or cold, and the leftovers can even be enjoyed for breakfast. If you serve the pudding warm, add a scoop of quality vanilla ice cream or sweetened whipped cream to top it off! From the Old Farmer's Almanac, ca. 1920.

GRAPE-NUTS PUDDING SNACK
I didn't want to call this "Grape-nut Pudding", because it's different from all of the other Grape-Nut puddings on the site, although that's really what it is. This is not so much of a recipe as it is a "snack concept" if you will. Just something I like to snack on.. my favorite flavor is butterscotch! Amounts are subject to personal taste :)

Steps:
- Scrape pudding cup into a bowl.
- Add cereal and stir.
- Best eaten after about 5 minutes to allow cereal to soften a bit.
- I usually make this with two pudding cups when I'm really hungry, so the ratio would be 8 oz pudding to 1/2 cup cereal. This is also good to mix pudding flavors!

- Preheat the oven to 325°F. Lightly grease an 8" round cake that's at least 2" deep., Whisk together the milk, cream, eggs, and vanilla., Add the Grape-Nuts, brown sugar, and salt, stirring to combine thoroughly., Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
- Set the pan in a larger pan, and pour in warm water to come about 3/4 up the sides of the 8" pan; this "water bath" will allow the custard to cook slowly and stay smooth., Bake the pudding for 60 minutes; a toothpick inserted into the center will come out clean., Remove the pudding from the oven.
- Allow the pudding to set for 15 to 30 minutes before serving; or cool completely, then refrigerate., Spoon individual servings onto plates or into bowls.
