My grandmother often made this for my family at holidays and also just with good homemade meals. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

MAMA'S SOUTHERN CORNBREAD DRESSING
I grew up on mama's cornbread dressing. I have come across many cornbread dressing recipes; however, this is still the best. This stuffing has cubes of cornbread with the addition of onions, celery, eggs, and stock. It's the perfect Southern souffle!

GRANDMA'S CORNBREAD DRESSING
Growing up, we didn't have turkey. We had chicken, chopped and baked in my grandmother's dressing. Now we leave out the chicken and keep the cornbread dressing. -Suzanne Mohme, Bastrop, Texas

GRANDDADDY'S CORNBREAD DRESSING
This is the dressing my Granddaddy made very Thanksgiving during my childhood. He taught me to make it when I was 7 or 8 years old. I have been making it every year since.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 425 degree. Grind cornbread, biscuits, onion and celery. I use a grinder but you can use a food processor if you don't have a grinder.
- Add parsley, sage rosemary and thyme. You can adjust the amounts to suit your taste.
- Start mixing it with your hands.
- Add broth, a little at a time, mixing as you go. Keep adding broth until mixture is moist but still firm and sticky.
- After mixed very well, press into an ungreased, 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes to 1 hour until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly before cutting into squares to serve.
- Great covered with gravy.
GRANNY'S SOUTHERN CORNBREAD DRESSING
This is how the last 5 generations of our family have made cornbread dressing. Surprised not to see this on Zar. So here is my family recipe. I was always the official taste tester. Before it went into the oven my mom would give me a bowl of it. I would tell her what seasonings needed adjusting. It became a ritual. LOL The cornbread is baked with the onion and celery in it. Really makes a difference to taste.
