Time 1h15m

Yield 10 to 12 servings

Number Of Ingredients 13

8 to 12 slender carrots, peeled and trimmed
8 to 12 baby turnips, peeled
6 to 8 fingerling potatoes, scrubbed and cut lengthwise in halves
1 or 2 large parsnips, peeled, trimmed, and cut diagonally into 1-inch-thick slices
1 or 2 medium onions, trimmed, peeled and halved, each 1/2 cut into quarters
1 or 2 large beets, peeled and cut into thick wedges
1 or 2 kohlrabi bulbs, peeled and cut into thick wedges
1 celery root, trimmed and halved, halves cut crosswise into 1-inch-thick slices
1 whole head garlic, separated into cloves, unpeeled
2 or 3 sprigs fresh rosemary, sage, or thyme
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Extra-virgin olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Put all the vegetables and the herb sprigs in a large baking dish. Season well with salt and black pepper, drizzle generously with olive oil, and toss them with your hands to coat them evenly.
  • Put the baking dish in the preheated oven and cook, stirring the vegetables occasionally, until they are tender and golden brown, about 45 minutes. Serve the vegetables from their baking dish or transfer them to a platter to accompany a roasted main course.

IRIS'S LOW PROTEIN DOG COOKIES

Iris's Low Protein Dog Cookies image

I run a business called The Exquisite Paw Club (sitting, walking, etc). One of my client's told me her dog cannot have many treats due to his allergy to protein. I felt bad for him because she has another dog who can have treats in normal quantity. So, I decided to make a recipe of my own using healthy food. My own dog, Iris, loves them, even though she isn't on a protein restriction. Note: Dough may be sticky. Still bakes fine. If sticky, roll with wet hands. Cookies will have less than a gram of protein. If worried or want to alter, check for protein content of what you use. Rice flour has the lowest protein when compared to wheat or all-purpose flour at 2 grams per 1/4Cup.

Categories     Vegetable

Time 25m

Yield 39 Dog Cookies, 39 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 cups rice flour
2 small apples
1 large carrot
1 medium banana
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2-1 cup water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350*.
  • Mix all dry ingredients together (Flour, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Brown sugar).
  • Finely dice apples, carrot, and banana (I suggest a blender or chopper to really cut them up and mix them).
  • Put fruits into dry mix and add honey.
  • Mix content in bowl and then add water until it looks like normal cookie-dough.
  • Roll into balls and gently press to make circles.
  • Lay them on greased tray with half an inch (they do not puff up or expand much).
  • Put in oven for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from tray and let cool until firm (leave out longer if you'd like crunchy cookies--basically letting them stale).

HOMEMADE RAT POISON: 9 TRIED AND TESTED RECIPES (SOME UNUSUAL …

From primalsurvivor.net
  • Ammonia. Ammonia smells terrible even to humans, so you can imagine how repulsive it is to a rat, which has a more highly developed sense of smell. High concentrations of ammonia are potentially fatal to rodents.
  • Onions. Rats don’t include onions as part of their standard diet, and they generally avoid them at all costs, even when cooked. The mere smell of raw onions irritates a rat’s eyes and noses, just as it does ours.
  • Baking Soda. Due to its versatility, most homes have some baking soda lying around in the kitchen. As well as being used as a cleaning agent, anti-acid, and leavening agent, baking soda is also a surprisingly effective mouse poison.
  • Instant Mashed Potato Flakes. I’ve always maintained that instant mashed potato is closer to poison than food, and it seems that for rats, at least, this is true.
  • Cement Mix. While this isn’t something everyone has in their kitchen, it is easily available and very effective, assuming you can persuade a rat to eat it.
