This is a really great recipe. I think that putting them in the refrigerator enhances the mint flavor and tastes a lot better. The 30 minutes is for preparation and cooking time.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon mint extract
1/2 cup cocoa
3 cups oatmeal
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup oleo

Steps:

  • Put sugar, mint extract, cocoa, salt, milk, and oleo on medium heat in saucepan until mixture bubbles.
  • Keep stirring--do not walk away!
  • Add oatmeal, peanut butter, and stir.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper.
  • When they cool store into air tight container.
  • Place it into the refrigerator.

- about 1 bottle cherry[or to taste] flavoring
- 3 bags of white choc chips
- cookie sheet lined with wax paper

Steps:

  • IN DOUBLE BOILER MELT W. CHOC CHIPS STIR TIL SMOOTH. ADD MINT FLAVORING STIR TIL SMOOTH THEN ADD CHERRY FLAVORING AND STIR TIL SMOOTH DON'T ADD THE FLAVORINGS AT THE SAME TIME U WANT THE COMPLETE FLAVOR OF EACH 1]
  • THEN ADD THE COCONUT [CHOPPED FINE] 1 CUP AT A TIME UNTIL THICK AND COCONUT IS COMPLETELY COVERED IN MIXTURE
  • DROP BY TABLESPFUL ON COOKIE SHEET LINED WITH WAX PAPER. PLACE IN FRIDGE TIL SET[15-20 MINS]
  • TAKE OUT AND PLATE

These are really yummy...especially when eaten still warm. A friend gave me this recipe but I am not sure of original source.

2 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons cocoa
3 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
salt (just a pinch)

Steps:

  • Mix sugar, butter, milk, salt, and cocoa in saucepan.
  • Bring to a full boil for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add peanut butter. Blend until melted.
  • Add vanilla. Blend well.
  • Add oats. Blend well.
  • Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and cool about 20 minutes.
  • Transfer to seal tight container for best freshness.

Steps:

  • MELT CHO CHIPS IN DOUBLE BOILER STIR TIL SMOOTH. ADD FLAVORING STIR TIL SMOOTH ADD SUAGER STIR TIL SMOOTH IF TO THICK U MAY ADD A DASH OF WHOLE MILK AND STIR TIL SMOOTH.
  • THEN ADD FINELY CHOPPED DRY OAT MEAL 1 CUP AT A TIME THEN DROP BY TABLESPFULS ONTO COOKIE SHEET LINED WITH WAX PAPER. PLACE IN FRIDGE TO SET ABOUT 15-20 MINS. TAKE OUT AND PLATE

2 cups sugar
2 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup Peanut Butter Chocolate Mint Jif Whips
2 cups uncooked quick oats

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, mix together the sugar, butter, cocoa and milk.
  • Place the pan on the stove top over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
  • After it comes to a boil, take it off the stove and mix in the salt, vanilla, and Jif Whips.
  • Mix well until the Jif Whips is completely dissolved.
  • Quickly add the oatmeal and mix until well combined.
  • Drop from spoon onto wax paper or aluminum foil.
  • Let them cool and set up before you eat them.
