BAKED PEACHES

Baked Peaches image

Baked Peaches are DELICIOUS and EASY! Fresh peaches with maple syrup, brown sugar and cinnamon, baked until warm and tender. Add ice cream or caramel or enjoy them just as they are!

Provided by Erin Clarke / Well Plated

Categories     Dessert

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 fresh, very ripe peaches (halved and pitted)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup or honey
1 tablespoon brandy (bourbon, or rum (optional))
1 tablespoon coconut sugar or light brown sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
Vanilla ice cream, Greek yogurt, or heavy cream, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat a 9x9-inch or similarly sized baking dish that's large enough to hold the peach halves in a single layer with nonstick spray. Pick a dish that's sized to where your peaches fit comfortably side by side, but there isn't too much excess room around them. Arrange peaches cut-side up in the dish.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the oil, maple syrup, brandy, coconut sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Spoon the mixture over the peaches, filling the center and letting it run over the sides.
  • Bake peaches, uncovered, until the peaches are cooked through and fork-tender, about 30 minutes. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream, Greek yogurt, or a pour of heavy cream, as desired.

SIMPLEST GRILLED PEACHES

Simplest Grilled Peaches image

Grilled peaches may be summer's greatest joy. Cook them over a medium to low gas grill or a dying charcoal fire, and serve them with ice cream, whipped cream or nothing at all.

Provided by Sam Sifton

Categories     barbecues, dessert

Time 10m

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 2

4 to 6 peaches
Olive oil

Steps:

  • Heat a gas grill to medium. If you are cooking on a charcoal grill, wait until the fire has died down to medium to low heat.
  • Cut the peaches along their seams, all the way around, and twist their halves off their pits. Brush the cut sides of the peaches with olive oil and grill, cut side down, until the fruit has developed grill marks and started to soften, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Brush the tops with oil, turn over and move to the side of the grill to continue cooking over indirect heat, another 4 to 5 minutes. You can add flavor by brushing them with maple syrup and bourbon, or molasses and butter. But if they are perfect peaches, they shouldn't need anything at all.

  • Zesty Peaches and Cream Tart. Make this gorgeous peach tart recipe the centerpiece of your next celebration. Just looking at the rows of juicy, fresh peach slices has our mouths watering, and that's before you even consider the decadent cream mixture below them.
  • Peaches and Cream Prosecco Cake. Everything we love about summer is nestled between the luscious layers of this vanilla cake recipe. Each layer is soaked in bubbly Prosecco, then topped with a juicy fresh peach filling.
  • Peach Crumble Bars. Part peach crisp and part dessert bar, you'll want to take this dessert to your next summer potluck or picnic. The three distinct layers are so good, you'll have to dole out seconds.
  • Peach Macarons. From a few steps away, it's easy to mistake these peach macarons for the real fruits. Creating the cutest macarons we've ever seen just takes some food coloring (so that each cookie resembles a peach) and mint leaves.
  • Peach Crisp. This classic peach crisp recipe will be a hit no matter whom you're serving. Adding a sprinkle of cinnamon to the peaches gives the filling some spice, while mixing crushed graham crackers into the topping gives it a taste almost like peach pie.
  • Peach Cobbler with Thyme Biscuits. Give a classic peach cobbler recipe a boost by tossing in some fresh thyme from your herb garden. Just a few pinches in the flaky homemade biscuits will remind you of fluffy rolls from your grandma's kitchen.
  • Fresh Peach Ice Cream. A lot of peach desserts are made even better by adding a scoop of homemade ice cream on top, and if you want a double-dose of fresh peaches, make sure you've got this ice cream ready in your freezer.
  • Skillet Dulce de Leche Peach Pie. You don't necessarily need a pie pan to make a pie—this recipe cooks right in your cast-iron skillet. Start by grilling fresh peach halves to give the filling a subtle smoky flavor.
  • Cheesecake-Stuffed Peaches. If you enjoy pure peaches for dessert, you'll love this slightly dressed up easy peach recipe. Rather than taking the time to bake a whole homemade cheesecake, you can just stuff each peach half with a dollop of cheesecake cream.
  • Peach-Berry Hot Honey Crisp. A peach crisp recipe is wonderful, but if you want your dessert to taste like full summer, adding berries is a must.
