2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (, about 6-8 lemons)
4 1/2 - 5 cups water (, divided)

Steps:

  • Combine sugar and 2 cups water in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  • Strain the lemon juice through a fine-mesh sieve into a 2-quart pitcher. Add simple syrup and stir to combine. Refrigerate until cold.
  • When ready to serve, add 2 1/2 cups of cold water and stir. Taste, and add more water if it's too sweet. Serve over ice, if desired.

1 ¾ cups white sugar
8 cups water
1 ½ cups lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar. Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled.
  • Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp. In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups water.

I Love the tart and sweetness of lemonade.Lemons can get pretty expensive when they are not in season so I usually make this during the summer when lemons are at a reasonable price. Feel free to garnish with slices of lemons or mint.

1 3/4 cups lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1 3/4-2 cups sugar (The sweeter the lemons the less sugar you will need)
2 cups water
7 cups water (or enough to fill the gallon pitcher)

Steps:

  • Squeeze lemons (about 10 medium size lemons)( I usually use my citrus juicer) . Strain juice of lemons in col lender to make sure all pulp from lemons are removed. measure 1 3/4 cup of lemon juice and pour into one gallon pitcer.
  • in a sauce pan combine 1 3/4- 2 cups of sugar (depending on taste) with 2 cups of water over medium heat until sugar is completely dissolved( about 4minutes).
  • Let cool slightly and pour into pitcher with lemon juice and fill rest with water.
  • Refrigerate gallon of lemonade pitcher to cool.
  • Serve over ice and garnish if desired.

I have not tried this recipe. I got this recipe from Linda's Low Carb. This isn't quite the same as real freshly squeezed lemonade, but it's about as close as you'll get and still have a low carb beverage. If you use liquid Splenda, you can have two servings and it will still only have 1 net carb.

1 ounce unsweetened lemon kool-aid (1 package) or 1 ounce pink lemonade, flavor kool-aid mix (1 package)
64 ounces cold water
1 -1 1/4 cup granular Splenda sugar substitute or 1 -1 1/4 cup equivalent liquid Splenda
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (2 small lemons)

Steps:

  • Put the drink mix in a 1/2 gallon pitcher; add the Splenda, lemon juice and 64 ounces cold water. Shake well. Chill well before serving over ice.
  • * Use 1 cup granular Splenda if you like tart lemonade and add another 1/4 cup for sweeter lemonade.
