1 egg
1 cup cold water
1 (3 ounce) package potato pancake mix
1/4 cup matzo meal
2 tablespoons melted butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
1 tablespoon fresh parsley flakes, chopped
1 -2 tablespoon onion powder
salt, to taste
fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Beat egg with a fork; blend in the water.
  • Add remaining ingredients, stir, allow to thicken 10 minutes.
  • Form into balls the size of a walnut.
  • Drop into a large pot of rapicly boiling salted water.
  • Cover tightly, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Drain and serve in soup, stew or as a side dish with meats and poultry.
