Categories     dessert

Time 25m

Yield 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 5

8 bananas
1 bag caramel bits or caramels cut into bits
1 bag chocolate chips
1 bag mini marshmallows
1 package original graham crackers, crushed into crumbs

Steps:

  • Split the bananas lengthwise, but don't cut all the way through. The goal is to create a boat to hold the ingredients. Load the bananas 1/4 cup each of the caramel bits, chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. Crumble 1 whole graham cracker onto each loaded banana. Wrap individually in 8-by-10-inch squares of foil, and then place near the campfire to melt the candies. Open up and eat with a spoon.

FIRE PIT BANANA BOATS

Fire Pit Banana Boats image

Provided by Six Sisters Stuff

Number Of Ingredients 4

5-6 banana's (however ripe you prefer them... I don't like any brown on mine)
About 3/4 cup chocolate chips (you can use peanut butter chocolate chips, white, or semi-sweet. You could also try breaking up pieces of your favorite candy bar. I bet a Reese's would be good!)
About 1 cup mini Marshmallows (you can cut up big ones too)
Aluminum foil

Steps:

  • Cut your aluminum foil into pieces that are about 8"x12" or 12"x12".
  • Unpeel the banana, and cut a slice down the middle.
  • You don't want to cut all the way through, but you just want a gap so you can put marshmallows and chocolate chips in it.
  • Place the peeled and cut banana on the foil to decorate.
  • Place desired amount of chocolate chips and marshmallows in the gap.
  • I try to get as much as I can in there so It's full, gooey and delicious!
  • Fold the foil over the banana so nothing will leak out of the foil, and so you can keep all the good stuff in it.
  • Place over coals.
  • It will usually take about 5 minutes to cook depending on how hot the coals/fire is.
  • You can also cook them in the oven or over the grill if your campfire rains out.
  • Medium heat on the grill for 5 or so minutes, checking every so often until desired the marshmallows and chocolate chips are at desired melting point
  • Broil on high for 7-10 minutes in the oven, or until desired melting point.
